The members of the Republican National Committee have sold their souls to Donald Trump. They protect him and defend him at all costs. They passed a resolution censuring the two GOP Representatives who are on the January 6 select committee investigating the deadly, Trump-incited Capitol riot. The RNC called the investigation a "Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse." Wow. Blindly loyal Trump supporters who obey his order to "march to the Capitol" and "fight like hell" to "stop the steal" are not "ordinary citizens," nor are they engaging in "legitimate political discourse."

Ask yourself...why did Pelosi only allow 2 repubs on the committee....the 2 she allowed are anti Trumpers. Seems legit.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy selected five Retrumplicans to be on the January 6 select committee. On July 21, 2021, Nancy Pelosi rejected two of them, Jim Jordan of Ohio and Jim Banks of Indiana. Both had objected to the certification of Joe Biden as President. Pelosi approved the other three, Rodney Davis of Illinois, Troy Nehls of Texas and Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota – but McCarthy threw a hissy fit and withdrew all five of his picks, accusing Pelosi of an "egregious abuse of power." Nope, sorry. Under the rules by which the committee was established, Pelosi could appoint eight members and McCarthy could nominate five members. Pelosi had the right to veto any or all of McCarthy's picks. Pelosi did not "allow" only two Republicans on the committee. There would have been more if not for McCarthy's childishness and petulance.

Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger are not "anti-Trumpers." They seek the truth about the deadly, Trump-incited Capitol riot. "Truth." Something Donald Trump and his blindly loyal supporters know nothing about. Cheney defended Pelosi, saying, "At every opportunity, the minority leader has attempted to prevent the American people from understanding what happened, to block this investigation. I am absolutely dedicated and committed to making sure this investigation holds those accountable who did this and ensures that it never happens again."

A few Retrumplicans condemned the deadly, Trump-incited Capitol riot immediately after it happened. Every day since, Retrumplicans have downplayed the violence and defended Trump. Georgia Representative Andrew Clyde said the insurrection looked like a "normal tourist visit." Deranged, demented, delusional Donald falsely claimed the rioters were "hugging and kissing" the police officers. And now.....

GOP mocked for calling January 6 Capitol riot 'legitimate political discourse'
As one Twitter user noted, the GOP's definition of "legitimate political discourse" includes "5 dead. 140 officers injured. $30 million in damages. Feces smeared on the wall."

Here is further evidence that the deadly, Trump-incited Capitol riot was definitely not a "normal tourist visit" or "legitimate political discourse" as the Retrumplicans claim:

A Retrumplican has finally acknowledged what is obvious to everyone who saw the video of the deadly, Trump-incited Capitol riot.

Kevin McCarthy finally admits Capitol riot was 'violent insurrection'
The House GOP leader still defended the Republican National Committee’s suggestion that the events of January 6, 2021, were "legitimate political discourse."

A well-known 1972 recording of a conversation between Richard Nixon and H.R. Haldeman – made three days after the Watergate break-in – includes an 18½-minute gap. Now we have a lengthy gap in White House phone call records from the day of the deadly, Trump-incited Capitol riot. But we know Trump was gleefully watching the riot on television. Perhaps he made no phone calls during the riot.

White House records obtained by January 6 committee show no record of calls to and from Trump during riot
    CNN, Feb 10 2022 1:38 PM ET

White House call records now in the possession of Congressional investigators do not reflect calls made to or from then-President Donald Trump as the violence unfolded on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, leaving them with gaps so far in their understanding of what transpired that day. The records the House select committee has obtained do not contain entries of phone calls between the President and lawmakers that have been widely reported in the press. Trump was known to make calls using personal cell phones, which could account for those.

Monique Miles said we should not believe "the mainstream media." You're wrong, Monique. The ones we shouldn't believe are the Retrumplicans who insist the deadly, Trump-inspired Capitol riot was "loving," a "peaceful protest" and a "normal tourist visit."

In 1999, Eastman founded the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence, a public interest law firm in Upland, California. In 2020, Eastman supported Trump's many lawsuits seeking to overturn the Presidential election results. In 2021, Eastman falsely told Vice President Mike Pence that he [Pence] could block the certification of Joe Biden's electoral votes. Eastman obviously knows very little about the Constitution.

Trump lawyer John Eastman turns over 8,000 emails to January 6 committee and withholds 11,000

Biden decided that keeping Trump's visitor logs private was "not in the best interest of the United States.” Trump, on the other hand, acts in his own self-interest, never in the interest of the United States. Trump has gone to great lengths to try to keep his emails secret, to keep his phone calls secret, to keep his visitor logs secret, to keep his taxes secret and to keep his business dealings secret. But don't forget, Trump bragged on May 24, 2019 that he is "the most transparent President in history."

Biden orders release of Trump White House visitor logs
Trump has repeatedly fought for the privacy of documents being sought by the committee investigating the Capitol riot.
