Today the Senate Rules Committee and Senate Homeland Security Committee released a bipartisan report detailing the security failures that preceeded the January 6 Trump-incited riot at the Capitol. At the insistence of Retrumplicans, the report completely ignored Trump's role. Retrumplicans' definition of "bipartisan" means protecting and defending Donald Trump at all costs and squelching any and all attempts to investigate him and his actions.

Analysis: Capitol Police were 'aware of the potential for violence' – and other takeaways from the Senate report on January 6 security failures

The Republican party ceased to exist in 2017, except in name only. It is the Cult of Donald Trump – and the blindly loyal Retrumplican cult members worship Trump almost as much as he worships himself. They protect him and defend him at all costs and they would march through the flames of hell if their cult leader asked them to. Trump inciting a deadly riot is perfectly okay with them. The cult leader can do no wrong!

In a New York Times op-ed, Virginia Representative Barbara Comstock – a Republican! – laments that her party can not move on from the January 6 Capitol riot because "the former President won't move on from the November 3 election and continues to push the same incendiary lies that resulted in 61 failed lawsuits before January 6, led to an insurrection and could lead to yet more violence." And yes, the Retrumplicans definitely want to "move on." They don't want Americans focusing on the deadly Trump-incited insurrection. That is why they blocked the bill that would have created an independent bipartisan commission to investigate the riot and the role of Trump, Trump Jr., Brooks, Cruz, Giuliani, Hannity and others in inciting it.

Analysis: This Republican nails why her party can't just move on from January 6

Antonio thought the events of January 6 at the Capitol were going to be "scheduled" and "super-organized." Boy, was he wrong!

It is truly frightening that so many of Donald Trump's blindly loyal supporters are willing to die for him – and to kill for him.

From 2003 to 2005, Wray was the Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice. In August 2017, Wray was sworn in as director of the FBI. He replaced James Comey, whom Trump had fired three months earlier. Because Comey was leading the FBI investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 Presidential election, Trump saw him as disloyal. Trump demanded loyalty to himself as opposed to loyalty to the Constitution and the United States of America. Comey had also refused Trump's demands to (a) imprison reporters who leaked information, (b) verify delusional Donald's false claim of his phones being wire-tapped by Obama and (c) drop the investigation of Trump's former security adviser Michael Flynn. Wray is also being loyal to the Constitution and the United States of America as opposed to being loyal to Donald Trump. Good for him!
