Several betting sites now favor Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to win the Presidency in 2024 although he has not yet announced he is running. Neither has Joe Biden.

There is a growing shadow campaign to defend Joe Biden from House Republicans
The President hasn’t said if he's running for office again but Democrats are already preparing efforts to defend him ahead of an expected rematch with Donald Trump.

Haley served as Governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, then spent two years as the United States ambassador to the United Nations. Last night at Clemson University, she said if she runs for President in 2024 she will "put 1000%" into the race. Uh, Nikki? That isn't possible. A hundred percent is the most you can do.

The Iowa caucuses are the first major contest of the Presidential primary season. For Democrats, that may change. Caucus-goers are not representative of the nation as a whole. In the 14 Presidential races since 1972, only eight Democrats who won the caucuses and only five Republicans who won the caucuses went on to win their party's nomination.

Democrats move South Carolina to first in Presidential contest, supplanting Iowa
    Bloomberg, Dec 2 2022

Democrats voted today to move the South Carolina primary to the front of their Presidential nominating calendar, displacing Iowa in a bid to involve more minority voters and move away from caucuses that some say disadvantage working-class voters. In a meeting of the Democratic National Committee in Washington, the Rules & Bylaws panel approved a proposal that put South Carolina first, followed by New Hampshire, Nevada, Georgia and Michigan. The full DNC still has to approve the changes in a formal vote, likely in early 2023.

After soliciting foreign election interference, alienating our allies, cozying up to dictators, politicizing the Justice Department, obstructing the Mueller investigation, abusing his power to pardon, denying climate change, downplaying the COVID pandemic, making 30,573 false or misleading claims while in office (as documented by the Washington Post), inciting a deadly riot and being impeached twice, Donald Trump has lost several of his big donors – but there are still quite a few billionaires willing to support him. Shame on them!

Inciting a deadly riot. Continuing to make false claims of a rigged, stolen election. Taking classified, confidential, top-secret documents to Mar-a-Lago. Dining with racists, white nationalists and anti-Semites. Donald Trump is finally falling out of favor with a growing number of Republicans.

When Congress re-convenes on January 3, 2023, Retrumplicans will hold a 51.2% majority in the House. This legislation has zero chance of passing. Retrumplicans have sold their souls to Donald Trump and continue to protect him and defend him at all costs. They do not care about the Constitution, the Bill of Rights or the rule of law.

House Democrats introduce legislation to bar Trump from office under 14th Amendment
The Hill, Dec 15 2022 10:39 PM ET

A group of 40 House Democrats, led by Rhode Island Representative David Cicilline, introduced legislation today to bar former President Trump from holding future federal office under the 14th Amendment. Section 3 of the Amendment states that no one who previously took an oath to support the Constitution and engaged in "iinsurrection or rebellion" shall "hold any office, civil or military" in the United States. Cicilline said Trump "very clearly" engaged in an insurrection on January 6, 2021, with the intention of overturning the results of the 2020 Presidential election. "You don’t get to lead a government you tried to destroy," he added.
