For anyone who believes an actor has no business running for President, I have two words: "Ronald Reagan." And a recent Newsweek shows 46% of Americans would support Johnson's bid.

I think the 2024 Presidential choice for a majority of Americans will be ABT – Anybody But Trump.

Among college-educated voters, 53% identify as Republicans and only 40% identify as Republicans. Overall, 49% of voters identify as Democrats and 40% identify as Republicans. Donald Trump plans to run for President in 2024 if Retrumplicans can regain control of the House and Senate in 2022. That may not be very likely.

Donald Trump ran for President in 2016 and failed to win a majority (or even a plurality) of the popular vote. Donald Trump ran for President in 2020 and failed to win a majority (or even a plurality) of the popular vote. Donald Trump is the only President to be impeached twice. Donald Trump is the only President to incite a deadly riot. Donald Trump has spent many months insisting he won in 2020 (which he didn't), insisting there was widespread voter fraud (which there wasn't) and seeking to overturn the election results (which he can't). A criminal investigation into Donald Trump's business dealings could result in several federal charges against him. A grand jury is now considering the evidence. And amidst all that, Donald Trump is planning a series of political rallies which indicate he is serious about running again in 2024. Excuse me – I feel sick.

Donald Trump continues to rule the Retrumplican party with an iron grip – but a few Retrumplicans are starting to realize he is not the ideal candidate for 2024.

Demented, deranged, delusional Donald continues to believe he won the 2020 election but it was "stolen" from him. He told a crowd of his blindly loyal supporters, "We won the election twice and it's possible we'll have to win it a third time." Hey, Donald, if you really won the election twice, then you can't run for President again! And how sad and how pathetic that 53% of Retrumplicans still believe Trump won in 2020. Spoiler alert: He lost.

Joe and Jill Biden, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack and Michelle Obama and George W. Bush attended ceremonies in Manhattan commemorating the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Donald Trump was invited – but did not go. He chose to make a public appearance and make the day all about himself.

Trump drops big hint about Presidential run at meeting with Manhattan police
    HuffPost, Sep 11 2021 10:23 PM

Former President Donald Trump appeared to drop a major clue about his Presidential campaign plans for 2024 Saturday when he skipped out on ceremonies marking the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and instead popped in on Manhattan police officers and firefighters. Asked by one of the officers at the 17th Precinct near Trump Tower if he was going to run again, the former President teased: “Oh, that’s a tough question.” Then he added: “Actually, it’s an easy question. I know what I’m going to do but we’re not supposed to be talking about it yet. But I think you’re going to be very happy.” Trump said he was holding off on an announcement because of "campaign finance laws which, frankly, are ridiculous." The longer Trump delays declaring that he’s a candidate, the longer he can continue to fundraise while dodging contribution reporting requirements.

Donald Trump has been out of office for eight months but he still controls the Retrumplican party. As his niece Mary puts it, Congressional Republicans continue to "kiss his ring." Retrumplican candidates covet Trump's endorsement and are willing to believe his election fraud lies and willing to whitewash the January 6 Capitol riot in order to get it. And a majority of Retrumplicans still see Trump as the future of the party. The blindly loyal members of the Cult of Donald Trump have sold their souls to him. How sad. And how scary.

Analysis: Trump is showing just how divisive a new White House run would be
Stephen Collinson, CNN, Sep 13 2021 1:00 AM ET

Only Donald Trump knows whether he will mount a run for the White House in 2024. But it's already clear what such a campaign would look like. It would be built on a lie that he was cheated out of office and would relentlessly politicize and monetize America's ideological, social and racial divides.

As a political neophyte in 2016, Trump tapped into a seam of discontent with the economy and a sense that the Washington establishment was ignoring millions of people. His victimization of Mexican and Muslim immigrants in that campaign played on a fear of outsiders. Some Democrats believe his win was also born from a racist backlash to the country's first Black commander-in-chief that benefited from his racist and false accusations about ex-President Barack Obama's birthplace. Already, what looks like a new attempt by Trump to reclaim the White House is shaping up as an even more sinister affair, not least because a twice-impeached President who already incited an insurrection and tried to subvert US democracy to stay in office would be seeking to regain the awesome powers of the Presidency.

Trump's attacks on the integrity of the 2020 election have left millions of his supporters believing a general election that even Trump's own Justice Department said did not contain serious corruption was stolen. This is not only a grave threat to faith in the US political system, it is an important part of what it means to be a Republican in 2021. A new CNN poll found that about six in ten of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents believe supporting Trump and believing that he won in 2020 are at least a somewhat important part of identifying with the party.

Deranged, demented, delusional Donald – who continues to promote The Big Lie that he won the 2020 Presidential election but it was "rigged" and "stolen" from him – is doing everything he can to ensure that he can rig – and steal – the 2024 Presidential election. And in a new CNN poll, 54% of Retrumplicans believe The Big Lie. How sad. And how scary.

'Incredibly dangerous': Trump is trying to get Big Lie promoters chosen to run the 2024 election
    CNN, Sep 16 2021 1:58 PM ET

Swing state by swing state, former President Donald Trump is trying to get people who tried to overturn the 2020 election chosen to be in charge of the 2024 election. Trump's endorsement of state Representative Mark Finchem for Arizona Secretary of State is the latest in a series of announcements that has alarmed independent elections experts. Trump has now backed Republicans who supported his lies about the 2020 election for the job of top elections official in three crucial battlegrounds – Arizona, Michigan and Georgia.

"It is incredibly dangerous to support people for office who do not accept the legitimacy of the 2020 election," said Rick Hasen, a professor of law and political science and co-director of the Fair Elections & Free Speech Center at the University of California, Irvine. "Someone who claims falsely that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump lacks credibility and cannot be trusted to run a fair election."

Twenty-six states have elections for Secretary of State in 2022. In addition to the three states in which Trump has endorsed so far, there is a key secretary race in Nevada, where Trump lost narrowly in both 2016 and 2020, and another in Minnesota, where he lost narrowly in 2016. While a secretary's authority varies from state to state, many of them have power over critical elections processes – who gets sent an application for a mail-in ballot, whose names are deleted from the registration rolls, how many ballot drop boxes are permitted and which voting technology is used to the certification of the results.

The vain, pompous, self-centered, egotistical narcissist is at it again. Unfortunately, he is probably right. Trump violated the Constitution, violated the Presidential oath of office, insulted Mexicans and Muslims, sexually abused several women, cheated on his taxes, incited a deadly riot, has been sued many hundreds of times, was impeached twice and has told many thousands of lies – and Retrumplicans continue to support him. They are blindly loyal members of the Cult of Donald Trump. They worship the man. If he asked them to commit suicide by drinking cyanide-laced Flavor Aid, they would gladly and willingly do so.
