Here is another example of people panicking and overreacting – but I'm sure Italians are taking comfort in knowing that the government has decided the coronavirus threat will be ended in just four weeks. Wait, what?

King Donald the First claims to know more about ISIS than the generals do and more about Russia than our intelligence agencies do. Now he seems to think he knows more about COVID-19 than the World Health Organization does. He shared his great wisdom with Sean Hannity, his number-one cheerleader, on Fox News.

The latest gloomy numbers: 98,429 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 3,387 deaths. The death toll in the United States is now 12. In Washington state, where 11 have died, Kaiser Permanente Health Research Institute will begin testing a new vaccine which is similar to the vaccine for the Zika virus. The testing will take 14 months. My question is: How many people will die of COVID-19 during those 14 months?

There are now 104,266 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus and 3,256 deaths. Meanwhile, the fear, panic, paranoia and overreacting continue. The NBA, NHL and NCAA are considering banning fans and news media from games if the spread of the coronavirus worsens. The Lakers' LeBron James says he will refuse to play in empty arenas.

There is a saying, "If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all." I wonder if the Chinese have a similar saying. It would certainly be appropriate for these people:

Some researchers and epidemioligists believe the COVID-19 virus could ultimately infect three billion people worldwide. Yikes! The death toll is now 3,570. That includes 19 in the United States and 233 in Italy.

The number of coronavirus cases outside China could jump tenfold every 19 days without 'strong intervention,' a study says
