That's an expensive round of 'essential drinks.' Seven people fined $1,000 each for violating stay-at-home order.

Charles Schulz introduced three new characters to his Peanuts comic strip in 1963: A boy named 5 and his two sisters named 3 and 4. The boy explained that his father renamed everyone in the family as a way to protest people being treated as "just a number." His full name was 555 95472. (Those last five digits are the ZIP code for Sebastopol, the California city where Schulz lived.) All three kids appear in the dance number in A Charlie Brown Christmas. Not even Schulz could have come up with the name X Æ A-12. It took a Canadian singer/keyboardist, eh?

Grimes and Elon Musk retrofit newborn son's name to comply with California ban
New York Daily News, May 25th 2020 3:00 PM

Elon Musk and Grimes have upgraded their newborn son's unique name to comply with California law. The Canadian musician revealed on Instagram Sunday that the official, written name of her first child with the Tesla billionaire is no longer X Æ A-12. The new name is X Æ A-Xii. "Roman numerals. Looks better, to be honest" she explained in response to questions posted by her followers. "One dash is allowed." The Office of Vital Records in California recognizes only names that contain alphabetical characters of the English language as well as hyphens and apostrophes. Numbers are banned.
