Another unethical, corrupt, money-loving, self-serving Republican is in trouble with the law. What a surprise!

Senator Burr steps down as Intel chairman
    Newsmax, May 14 2020 12:28 PM

Republican Senator Richard Burr is stepping down Friday as chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. The North Carolina Senator's move comes a day after the FBI seized his cellphone in a probe of his stock sales during the early weeks of the coronavirus pandemic. The Justice Department is investigating whether Burr broke the law with a well-timed sale of stocks before the coronavirus caused markets to plummet,

King Donald the First today made this idiotic tweet: "Michigan sends absentee ballots to 7.7 million people ahead of Primaries and the General Election. This was done illegally and without authorization by a rogue Secretary of State. I will ask to hold up funding to Michigan if they want to go down this Voter Fraud path!"

Where to begin? First, the state sent out applications for absentee ballots, not the ballots themselves. Second, the Secretary of State is not "rogue." Third, the move is not "illegal." Fourth, voting by absentee ballot is not "voter fraud." By the way, King Donald voted by absentee ballot in Florida. King Donald made similar accusations and threats against Nevada. He doesn't care if millions of Americans risk exposure to the COVID-19 virus when they go to the polls in November. He mistakenly believes vote-by-mail favors Democrats over Republicans. Actually, vote-by-mail doesn't favor either party. Regardless, King Donald has decreed that he will punish Michigan and Nevada for wanting to ensure everyone can vote safely. Can he do that? Of course he can. He's the King! His power is absolute. Senate Republicans make sure of that.

King Donald the First withheld Congressionally-approved military aid from Ukraine and dangled it as a bribe in an effort to persuade President Volodymyr Zelensky to dig up dirt Joe and Hunter Biden. Trump's actions led to his impeachment. Now he and all his blindly loyal lackeys in Congress are determined to dig up dirt on their own. Trump in 2020 is doing the same thing he did in 2016: Attack, accuse, slander and denigrate his opponent. It's nasty – but totally in character for King Donald.

GOP escalating probes of Bidens, Obama aides before election
    Newsmax, May 21 2020 11:46 AM

President Donald Trump's allies in the House and Senate are ramping up investigations aimed at Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and some of his former Obama administration colleagues that are likely to reach a crescendo in the middle of the election campaign. Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham tgoday set up a vote following the Memorial Day recess to give him sweeping authority to subpoena numerous former Obama-era officials, including former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch as well as ex-FBI director James Comey, as part of his panel's review of the origins of the investigation into Russian election interference and the Trump campaign's role. The line of inquiry is fully embraced by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who is in the middle of a battle to save his Republican majority in the November election.

The stepped-up GOP investigations are a flipped script from earlier in the year, when Republicans and the White House accused Democrats of being obsessed with impeaching the President and distracting the country from the growing coronavirus pandemic. Trump has vowed that the origins of the Russia investigation will figure prominently in the election contest between him and Biden. The president long has promoted a conspiracy theory that the Obama administration, in which Biden served as vice president, and anti-Trump factions within the intelligence agencies and the Justice Department improperly tried to undermine his election campaign in 2016.

Trump also plans to use Biden's involvement with Ukraine at the same time his son Hunter Biden served on the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company, as a campaign issue. That would bring the issue full circle. The House impeachment investigation was triggered by the President’s attempt to prod Ukraine's president into investigating whether Biden, as vice president, put pressure on Ukraine to help Burisma.

As it turns out, the vain, pompous, egotisical narcissist was not the "shrewd businessman" and "great deal-maker" he bragged about being. Of course he didn't care about our nation's wealth. He cared only about his own wealth – and the wealth of his Republican donors, to whom he gave huge tax cuts.

Here is another story showing Donald Trump was not the "shrewd businessman" he bragged about being. He has always been deceitful and dishonest – and everything he does is largely for the benefit of himself.

New York Times: Trump 2020 campaign refunds millions to donors after using aggressive fundraising tactic
    CNN, Aug 7 2021 2:14 PM PDT

Former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party have refunded nearly $13 million to donors in the first half of the year, after deploying fundraising tactics in the 2020 election that duped donors into giving more money than they intended or believed they were, The New York Times reported today. More than $135 million has been refunded to donors by Trump’s reelection campaign, the Republican National Committee and their shared accounts in the 2020 cycle through June 2021.

A Times investigation earlier this year found that Trump’s political operation last year automatically enrolled their online donors into recurring donations every week until Election Day. Donors would have to manually uncheck a box on digital donation forms if they wished to opt out of the weekly donation. The Trump campaign made the disclaimer “increasingly opaque” by including it amongst bold and capitalized text, according to the newspaper. The tactic led to demands for refunds from supporters and a slew of credit card fraud complaints.

Gonzalez was one of only ten House Republicans who joined Democrats in voting to impeach Trump for inciting the deadly riot at the Capitol. Trump demands loyalty to himself, not to the United States of America and not to the Constitution. Trump's reaction to Gonzalez' decision to not run for re-election in 2022: "One down, nine to go."

Lamon is a typical Retrumplican. He loves guns and hate Democrats – and has no morals, no ethics, no scruples and no dignity.

Good luck with this. Does anybody remember the Whigs, the Federalists, the Greenback Party, the Independence Party or the Constitution Party?

Former Republicans and Democrats form new political party
    Reuters, Jul 28 2022 4:47 AM

Dozens of former Republican and Democratic officials have announced a new national political third party to appeal to millions of voters they say are dismayed with what they see as America's dysfunctional two-party system. The new party, called Forward, will initially be co-chaired by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang and Christine Todd Whitman, the former Republican governor of New Jersey. They hope the party will become a viable alternative to the Republican and Democratic parties that dominate US politics.

Party leaders will hold a series of events in two dozen cities this autumn to roll out its platform and attract support. They will host an official launch in Houston on September 24 and the party's first national convention in a major US city next summer.

Priola left the Retrumplican party – but there are still 260 Retrumplicans in Congress and the majority of them continue to spread Donald Trump's Big Lie of a rigged, stolen election and widespread voter fraud. How nice it would be if some of them followed Priola's lead!
