Millions of people like to shop on Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after. Unfortunately, shooters never take a holiday, nor is any place in America safe.

I can think of only one type of place in America that might be safe from gun violence, and that's assuming any still exist: those underground concrete-lined fallout sheters that were built in the early 1960s during the Cold War.

France has always been a popular tourist destination. Now it's turning into a destination for murderers. In January 2015, gunmen killed 17 people at the Paris office of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. A series of attacks in November 2015 left 120 dead in Paris. Eight months later, 86 died when a terrorist drove a truck into crowds in Nice. In March 2018, an ISIS-affiliated gunman killed four people in Carcassonne and Trèbes. Today in Strasbourg, home of the European Parliament, two are dead and several others are in critical condition following a shooting at a Christmas market.

Trump insists building a border wall will reduce crime. How, pray tell, will a wall reduce the number of mass shootings committed by American-born males? Answer: it won't -- and Trump and the Republicans ignore all these shootings, other than to occasionally say their "thoughts and prayers" are with the victims. Oh yeah, that really means a lot, doesn't it?

Another shooting spree by a young white man born in the United States -- and it is almnost a certainty that Trump and the Republicans will say nothing about it.
