Last week, FBI Director Chris Wray said Russia works "365 days a year" to undermine American democracy. He said Russia's 2016 election meddling was a "dress rehearsal" for our 2020 election.
Today, Donald Trump phoned his BFF Vladimir Putin and they talked for an hour. Trump told reporters they discussed "five or six things." A reporter asked, "Did you tell Putin to not meddle in our election?" Trump's response: "We didn't discuss that. Really, we didn't discuss it." He did, however, tell Putin the Mueller investigation was a "hoax" and on Twitter he again called it a "witch hunt."

Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell yesterday said of the Mueller investigation, "Case closed." Not all Republicans agree; they've subpoenaed Donald Trump Jr. to testify about his dealings with Russians. CNN is reporting that he's considering taking the fifth to avoid testifying. On at least five occasions Donald Trump said only guilty people take the fifth and anyone who does so is "horrible" and "disgraceful." I wonder what he thinks now.
