How unoriginal is Hollywood, you ask? Not only will there be a sequel to Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, it will be titled Jay & Silent Bob Reboot. In the original 2001 film, Jay and Silent Bob went to Hollywood and tried to halt production of a movie based on them. If only we could stop production of this sequel!

Harold Matson and Elliot Handler founded Mattel in 1945. Handler is credited with creating the Hot Wheels miniature cars in 1968 -- but Matchbox had been making miniature cars since 1953. Anyway, Hot Wheels is now the world's best-selling toy. (Mattel bought Matchbox in 1997.) Where is this leading, you ask? A movie for ten-year-old boys to enjoy:

"There's a sucker born every minute" is a saying usually attributed to P.T. Barnum. It was actually an observation made by David Hannum, a banker who was amazed at the large numbers of people who believed Barnum's fake "petrified giant man" was real. It seems that tv and movie sequels, prequels, remakes and reboots are born every minute, too. Today in Hollywood unoriginality:
Sequel to The Greatest Showman is in the works, confirms director Michael Gracey

We will never ever see the death of sequels, prequels, remakes, reboots and spinoffs. Today in Hollywood unoriginality:

"Let me tell ya something, kid. Everybody gets one chance to do something great." Yeah, unless you're a Hollywood producer. Then you get hundreds of chances to do sequels and reboots and remakes. There were two direct-to-video Sandlot sequels (2005, 2007) and now we'll have a television series. I wonder if Squints still has a crush on Wendy Peffercorn.
