Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg told Congressmen, "We do not allow hate groups on Facebook. If there's a group that their primary purpose, or a large part of what they do, is spreading hate, we will ban them." Umm, Mark? You're just now removing Facebook pages that obviously had not been banned. Doy!

Does Mark Zuckerberg really need security personnel and security systems? Does Mark Zuckerberg really need to fly on private planes? I say "no." I wonder what Facebook stockholders think.

Facebook has spent $20 million on Mark Zuckerberg's security, private plane travel since 2015

The 28 member countries of the European Union impose tighter controls and stricter regulations on US tech companies than the US does. Zuckerberg says he's sorry for Facebook's data leaks, hate speech, fake news, fake accounts and Russian election meddling. Of course he would say he's sorry.....but the Europeans ain't buying it!

Today in Europe, the General Data Protection Regulation goes into effect. It imposes huge fines on companies that retain users' data without the users' consent. We need such a regulation in the United States.

Yeah, this idea is really brilliant. What could go wrong? Here is a much better idea: Facebook users can quit taking naked photos. Doy!

Facebook: Send us your naked photos to stop revenge porn
    CBS News, May 24 2018 11:28 PM

Facebook is expanding its fight against revenge porn with a pilot program that asks users to send their naked photos so Facebook can block the photos before someone else shares them. Facebook's been testing the system in Australia and is extending the trial to the US, Britain and Canada.

Antigone Davis, Facebook's Global Head of Safety, says the company is updating its pilot program targeting the non-consensual sharing of images on the platform. Rather than users having to report an image after it's already been shared around Facebook, Facebook will let users upload an image before it's been seen by others. Davis says the photos will be seen by only "a very small group of about five specially trained reviewers." They'll give the photo a unique digital fingerprint, something called hashing. That code will then be stored on a database. If anyone else tries to upload the same photo, the code will be recognized and it will be blocked before it appears on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. The original photos will not be stored.
