If this deal is approved, SiriusXM would own 20% of iHeartMedia -- and maybe then SiriusXM could quit carrying KIIS and WHTZ and launch a "Deep Tracks"-style oldies channel and a 1950s-60s-70s MOR hits channel. I can always hope.

"Out of the blue, Liberty Media, controlling owner of SiriusXM and minority stakeholder in Pandora, is offering $1.159 billion for a 40% stake in iHeartMedia, which is very close to defaulting on a $103 million debt payment. As it stands, iHeartMedia is negotiating with senior creditors to greatly reduce the company’s $20 billion in debt in exchange for equity. The Liberty offer is designed not to replace the current offer by senior creditors but to add Liberty to the mix. Liberty’s offer is for a 20% stake held by Liberty, another 20% held by SiriusXM, four seats on the new company’s nine-member board and a spinoff of Clear Channel Outdoor as a taxable transaction. Some experts say this offer has no chance of being accepted. Sources say the offer undervalues iHM’s 850 radio stations, putting the value of iHeartMedia at $7.5 billion, less than the $8.5 billion Franklin Resources places on it. Franklin is leading the senior creditors group. One source expects iHM to proceed with a bankruptcy filing on March 3."

I hate these "low volume run-ups." Sometimes, a month or so after such a run up, we find that *COINCIDENTALLY* some insiders sold stock options during such a run up.
I am not trying to spoil anyone's weekend. Further, I am just some schmuck, so nobody should make stock moves based on what I say. I have been 'buy and hold' for a while. Trying to avoid paying tax on my modest gains.

Don't have as much time.......life, family etc. Still checking in every few days or so just not posting. This Dogs going to 10 within the next couple years unless we finally hook up with Liberty first. Congrats to all you longs ........nice ride. Clarity on the 10. Not here to pump. Nothing goes up in a straight line. DYODD! For me I just don't stress it as much. I have big gains. Some have been booked. Most are intact. My core has been good to me. If it goes down EDIT: BIG I will buy more and trade it. Don't worry about 25 cent swings anymore. Man have things changed with this stock. It's all about working around my position now. Exciting times for the LONGS!

I don’t know what the future holds for in car entertainment with the competition but nothing out there is as easy as Sirius. My dad just got a new car and it’s just so easy to use the radio,it’s always been this way even when I got my first audiovox radio. This keeps me believing we are good for a long while, easy is better. When I’m in a car without it and I hook up my phone to run the app it works but not as good as a direct radio. I’ve also noticed a lot of people who never had or believed in satellite radio now do. The lower plans seam to be working on getting people to reactivate their radios and turn them on for the first time. I definitely can see ten and better in our future.
