At yesterday's D23 Expo at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Disney Parks chairman Josh D'Amaro announced that a show featuring a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic is coming to Disneyland in 2025, the Magic Kingdom will add a Villains land, Animal Kingdom will add Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions. Disney's Hollywood Studios will add a Monsters Inc. land and Disney's California Adventure will add a Coco attraction and an Avatar land.

Disney today released a new preview of Moana 2, which opens in theaters on November 27. Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda voices Simea, Moana's little sister. The name comes from the Hebrew simḥā and means "listen" or "God has heard." Yes, a three-year-old Polynesian with a Hebrew name and she's voiced by a young Japanese girl!

Disney's 1994 animated movie The Lion King grossed $979,000,000 worldwide. In 1998 Disney released a direct-to-video sequel, The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. In 2004 Disney released The Lion King 1½, a direct-to-video retelling of The Lion King from Timon and Pumbaa's point of view. In 2019, Disney released a computer-animated remake of The Lion King. It grossed $1,657,000,000 worldwide. Do we really need a prequel? A fifth Lion King movie? Disney thinks so. The computer-animated Mufasa: The Lion King opens in theaters December 20. Aaron Pierre voices Mufasa, Beyoncé voices Nala, Donald Glover voices Simba, Kevin Harrison Jr. voices Taka (who becomes Scar), John Kani voices Rafiki, Billy Eichner voices Timon and Seth Rogen voices Pumbaa. Disney today released a preview of the live-action Snow White movie starring Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. Grumpy is portrayed by Martin Klebba, who played Marty in the Pirates Of The Caribbean films. Snow White opens in theaters March 21, 2025.
