I'm old enough to remember when people actually watched television on a television set. CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker is confident CNN's new streaming subscription service will be successful.

CNN announces CNN+, 'most important launch for network since Ted Turner'
    CNN, Jul 19 2021 10:43 AM ET

CNN is hiring hundreds of people and developing dozens of programs for a subscription streaming service that will launch early next year. The new venture, called CNN+, was formally announced today. It will exist side by side with CNN's existing television networks and will feature eight to twelve hours of live programming a day. The executive in charge of CNN+, chief digital officer Andrew Morse, said "this is the most important launch for CNN since Ted Turner launched the network in June of 1980." Morse emphasized that the daily programming will be differentiated from what CNN already produces on TV. "It's not going to be a news headline service," he said, citing opportunities for "more deep dives" into subjects such as climate change; space and science; and race and identity.

Wallace does not worship Donald Trump. Wallace does not believe The Big Lie that Trump won the 2020 Presidential election "in a landslide" but the victory was "stolen" from him. Wallace does not spread conspiracy theories. Fox News is the Trump Cheerleading Channel. It is amazing that Wallace was able to stay with Fox News for 18 years.

Lemon is a political independent and one of Donald Trump's harshest critics. Carlson is a conspiracy-theory-peddling Retrumplican who Politico once called "perhaps the highest-profile proponent of Trumpism." Both are now out of work.

Licht, a former MSNBC and CBS executive producer, was named president of CNN in February 2022 following the resignation of Jeff Zucker. In a memo sent to CNN employees on his first day on the job, Licht declared, "CNN must be a vital, relevant and respected part of our culture. Sadly, too many people have lost trust in the news media. I think we can be a beacon in regaining that trust..." During Licht's tenure, there were major layoffs, low morale and declining ratings and then, on May 10, 2023, a live town hall with Donald Trump bashing E. Jean Carroll, pushing for a debt default and repeating election-fraud lies. Licht is now out.
