Authorities knew the tweets were not really coming from Donald Trump because the hacker Failed to Capitalize Every other Word and he neglected to use dozens of exclamation points.

Dutch authorities: Trump's Twitter account was hacked by man who guessed 'maga2020!' password
It took the hacker only five tries to guess the correct password and he was kind enough to tell Donald Trump's team to activate two-factor authentication afterward.

Trump's golf outings since he's been President have cost American taxpayers an amount equal to 379 years of his annual salary.

Trump back at Mar-a-Lago, raising taxpayer golf tab to $151.5 million
    HuffPost, Dec 23 2020 6:08 PM

Donald Trump has arrived at his Palm Beach, Florida, resort for the 31st golf vacation there of his Presidency, raising the taxpayer-funded travel and security total for his hobby to $151.5 million. Trump has played golf on his own properties 289 times since taking office in January 2017, although he claimed during his 2016 campaign that he would not have time for a vacation at all. "I just want to stay in the White House and work my ass off," he said in February 2016.

Trump’s insistence on playing at his own properties – rather than courses on military bases close to the White House as former President Barack Obama mainly did – has made his outings enormously expensive for American taxpayers. Each trip to Mar-a-Lago costs $3.4 million flying Trump, his staff and the vehicles needed for his motorcade on Air Force One and a number of cargo planes, as well as the expenses incurred by the Coast Guard to patrol both the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean adjacent to his for-profit resort.

Trump has also made 23 trips to his course in Bedminster, New Jersey, at a cost of $1.1 million each, as well as trips to his courses in Palos Verdes, California; Doral, Florida; Turnberry, Scotland; and Doonbeg, Ireland.

The headline of Joe Lockhart's essay is wrong. Trump isn't "destroying" the Republican party. He's already destroyed it! The Republican party exists in name only. It has become the Cult of Donald Trump.

During his first debate with Donald Trump, Joe Biden said, "Man, you're the worst President in history." Since that debate, Trump has managed to get even worse. For the past eight weeks, delusional Donald has completely neglected his duties as President. He has focused all his time and energy on trying to overturn the results of the election – which he lost.

Cohen calls Trump a shameful manipulator who will continue to control the GOP "whether he’s in office or out of office." In a Newsweek poll, 73% of respondents agree with Cohen's suggestion that the few Congressional Republicans who are not "hostages" to Donald Trump should form a new political party.

On January 6, as Congress began the process of counting electoral votes, thousands of blindly loyal Trump supporters – who believe Trump's lies that he won the election but it was "stolen" from him – stormed the Capitol. They rioted. They broke windows. They vandalized offices. Four people died: a woman who was shot by a Capitol police officer and two men and a woman who had "medical emergencies." Fourteen officers were injured; two were hospitalized.

The Los Angeles Times wrote, "Four years of incendiary, divisive and dishonest rhetoric from President Trump culminated with long-predicted violence Wednesday. The mob's march on the Capitol came just after Trump encouraged supporters to do so during a 70-minute address rehashing his false claims that Democrats stole the election. The televised coverage of thousands of pro-Trump insurrectionists overwhelming police, forcing officers to draw their weapons and lawmakers to flee the House and Senate chambers to go into hiding was a breathtaking demonstration of what Trump has wrought – a mob as heedless of law and norms as he has been, willing to literally trash the fundamental institutions of American democracy." Today there are growing calls for Trump to be impeached or to be removed from office via the 25th Amendment.

Rickie Niceta, Sarah Matthews, Stephanie Grisham, Eric Dreiband, Ryan Tully, Tyler Goodspeed, Mick Mulvaney, Matt Pottinger and many other Trump administration officials have resigned. Evelyn Chao is the first Cabinet member to do so.

"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose any voters." Donald Trump spoke those words at a rally in Iowa on January 23, 2016. How true those words turned out to be. Now, after many months of making false claims about election fraud, and two months of insisting he won the election but it was "stolen" from him, and encouraging his blindly loyal supporters on January 6 to march to the Capitol in protest, and inciting a riot in which five people died, he still hasn't lost much support. Only 20% of Republicans think he should be removed from office before his term ends. How sad – and how scary.

Majority of Americans want Trump removed immediately after Capitol violence: poll
    Reuters, Jan 9 2021

Fifty-seven percent of Americans want Republican President Donald Trump to be immediately removed from office after he encouraged a protest this week that escalated into a deadly riot inside the US Capitol, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted Thursday and Friday. Most of them were Democrats, however, with Republicans apparently much more supportive of Trump serving out the final days of his term, which ends on January 20.
