Emitt Rhodes' 1970 self-titled album is one of my all-time favorite albums. He wrote all the songs and played all the instruments. Highlights are Lullabye, Fresh As A Daisy, She's Such A Beauty and With My Face On The Floor. From 1964 to 1966, Rhodes was the drummer for the Palace Guard, a Los Angeles garage-rock band. Falling Sugar, their sixth and final single, was a minor hit locally, getting played on KHJ, KFWB and KRLA. In 1967, Rhodes became lead singer for the Merry-Go-Round, whose two hits, Live and You're A Very Lovely Woman, did much better in Los Angeles than nationally. Live reached #5 on the KHJ Boss 30 and #7 on the KFWB Fabulous Forty.

The singer-songwriter released four albums in the 1970s and returned with new music four decades later.

Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood left John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in 1967 and formed a new band with guitarist Jeremy Spencer and bassist Bob Brunning. Fleetwood called the band Fleetwood Mac because he was hopeful that bassist John McVie, another Bluesbreaker member, would be part of the group. After a few weeks, "Mac" did indeed join the band, replacing Brunning. Green left Fleetwood Mac in May 1970.
