Blue Cheer's biggest hit was a 1968 remake of Eddie Cochran's Summertime Blues with guitar riffs replacing the spoken-word sections (and causing puzzlement among listeners who hadn't heard the original version). Blue Cheer formed in 1967 and underwent several break-ups and reunions between 1972 and 2009. Whaley was the drummer for most of that time.

Call Of The Wildman aired from 2011 to 2014 and for a few months was Animal Planet's highest-rated series. The show featured Ernie Brown Jr., a Kentucky man who traps and removes skunks, raccoons, groundhogs, bees, spiders, snakes and other "nuisance animals." He was always accompanied by his dog and Neal James. A few of the episodes were scripted and staged by using animals obtained from rescue groups. This "reality show" wasn't always real.
