Bresh, the son of 1940s-50s singer-guitarist Merle Travis, had eight country hits, 1976-78, including Home Made Love, Sad Country Love Song, Until I Met You, Hey Daisy and That Old Cold Shoulder. His remake of Tex Williams' 1947 hit Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (That Cigarette), which was written by Travis and Williams, featured impersonations of John Wayne, Johnny Cash, Walter Brennan, Jimmy Stewart, Paul Lynde, Truman Capote, Gomer Pyle, Archie Bunker and others.
