Moloney co-founded the Chieftains in 1962 and played bagpipes, tin whistles, accordion and/or bodhrán on each of their 37 albums, from The Chieftains (1964) to Voice Of Ages (2012). Among the Chieftains' best-known songs are Cotton Eyed Joe, Carolan's Concerto, O'Sullivan's March, Chasing The Fox, Boil The Breakfast Early, If I Had Maggie In The Wood and Lots Of Drops Of Brandy. The Chieftains have recorded with Van Morrison, Ry Cooder, James Galway, John Williams and many others.
