    She sang on Uptown, There's No Other Like My Baby, Da Doo Ron Ron, Then He Kissed Me and many other hits -- but she did not sing on He's A Rebel. The label of He's A Rebel said "Crystals" but the artists were Darlene Love & the Blossoms. The song was the Crystals' only number-one hit and it wasn't really them! Bizarre.

    The Real Thing has had six top-ten hits in the UK. Their biggest was the 1976 number-one You To Me Are Everything. In the US, the song reached #28 on the r&b chart and #64 on the Hot 100.

    Bud Luckey died today. Among many other accomplishments, he wrote several songs and animated several short films for Sesame Street, illustrated more than a hundred storybooks, designed the character of Woody for Toy Story, voiced Chuckles The Clown in Toy Story 3 and the upcoming Toy Story 4, sang and played banjo in the 2003 Pixar short Boundin' and voiced Eeyore in the 2011 animated film Winnie-The-Pooh.

    Bruce Nelson Stratton, a member of the Country Radio Hall Of Fame and the CMA Texas Hall Of Fame, died of throat cancer February 18. Stratton began in radio in 1960 at WXRA in Woodbridge, Virginia, the first FM country music station in the United States. He later worked at WTUP in Tupelo, WPLO in Atlanta, WMIL in Milwaukee, WUBE in Cincinnati and KENR and KNUZ in Houston. He is credited with being the first DJ to play recordings by Freddy Fender and Mickey Gilley. Stratton retired in 2010 after 15 years as morning host and general manager of KFTX in Corpus Christi. In the 1970s he released several singles which became regional hits in Texas. The biggest was Shake 'Em Up & Let 'Em Roll:

    While at MGM, Melniker negotiated the deals that brought Gigi, Ben-Hur, Dr. Zhivago and 2001: A Space Odyssey to the big screen. He also pushed MGM's animation department to hire Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, who would eventually leave and start Hanna-Barbera Studios, where they created Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Top Cat, The Flintstones, The Jetsons and dozens of other animated series.

    Schmidt, a member of the American Theatre Hall of Fame, is best known for composing the music for The Fantasticks, including Try To Remember, which was originally sung by Jerry Orbach and in 1965 became a hit for Ed Ames. Roger Williams, Gladys Knight and the Brothers Four also charted with versions of the song.
