    Wright was a member of the Dave Brubeck Quartet from 1958 to 1968 and recorded 32 albums with the band. Alto sax player Paul Desmond died in 1977, drummer Joe Morello died in 2011 and pianist Brubeck died in 2012. Wright also played on albums by Gene Ammons, Cal Tjader, Sonny Stitt, Buddy DeFranco, Carmen McRae and many others.

    Brothers Steve and Rudy Salas formed Tierra in 1980 in Los Angeles. They had previously been members of El Chicano, whose 1970s hits include Viva Tirado, Brown Eyed Girl and Tell Her She's Lovely. Tierra's biggest hit, Together, reached #18 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 1981.

    The McGuire Sisters – Phyllis, Christine and Dorothy – had 17 top-40 hits, from Goodnight Sweetheart Goodnight in 1954 to Just For Old Time's Sake in 1961. Two of their songs went to number one, Sincerely in 1955 and Sugartime in 1958.
