    Cole played Pete Cochran in 123 episodes of The Mod Squad, 1968-73, and Harlan Barrett in 68 episodes of General Hospital, 1991. (The character was killed off.)     George Kresge Jr. loved Lee Falk's Mandrake The Magician comic strip which debuted in 1934. It inspired him to become a mentalist. Kreskin worked for several years as a clinical pyschologist while developing his act and his supposed ability to make "predictions." He hosted a syndicated TV series from 1972 to 1977 and authored 15 books and booklets on ESP and "mind power."

    Guitarist Nile Rodgers, bassist Bernard Edwards, drummer Tony Thompson and vocalists Luci Martin and Norma Jean Wright formed Chic in 1977 in New York City. After one hit, Dance Dance Dance (Yowsah Yowsah Yowsah), Wright left the group and was replaced by Alfa Anderson, who sang lead on Le Freak, Good Times, My Forbidden Lover and I Want Your Love. The original group broke up in 1983. Rodgers formed a new Chic group in 1996.

    DeSanto, born Umpeylia Balinton in Brooklyn, toured with the Johnny Otis Revue in 1955 and the James Brown Revue in 1959-60. She had a #4 R&B hit in October 1960 with I Want To Know. Among her other hits are Slip-In Mules, Soulful Dress, Use What You Got and In The Basement, a duet with Etta James. In May 2024, DeSanto was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame.
