    The Pointer Sisters – Anita, June and Bonnie – recorded two unsuccessful singles for Atlantic. In 1973, after their older sister Ruth joined the group, they signed with Blue Thumb and reached #11 on the Hot 100 with Yes We Can Can. In 1974, they reached #13 with Fairytale. Bonnie went solo in 1977 and the remaining trio went on to have 12 more top-40 hits including Fire, He's So Shy, Slow Hand, I'm So Excited and Neutron Dance. June died in 2006. Bonnie died in 2020.

    Modest Mouse formed in 1992 in Issaquah, Washington. After seven unsuccessful singles, they reached number one on Billboard's alternative rock chart in 2004 with Float On. They also reached number one with Lampshades On Fire in 2014 and We Are Between in 2021. Among their other hits are Dashboard, Ocean Breathes Salty and The Sun Hasn't Left.

    Gangsta Boo, born Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, was a member of Memphis hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia from 1995 to 2002 and recorded six albums with them. She also released three solo albums and 10 mixtapes. Among her best-known songs are Who We Be, Love Don't Live, Mask 2 My Face and Where Dem Dollas At.

    Before joining Earth Wind & Fire in 1974, White had been a member of the Ramsey Lewis Trio and a session drummer for Chess Records. He played drums on eight Earth Wind & Fire albums and on albums by Linda Ronstadt, Donny Hathaway, Jennifer Holliday, Deniece Williams, the Emotions and others.
