    Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey and Mary Travers began singing as a trio in 1961 in Greenwich Village, New York. They had a number-one hit in December 1969 with Leaving On A Jet Plane, written by John Denver. Among their other hits are Lemon Tree, If I Had A Hammer, Puff The Magic Dragon, Blowin' In The Wind, Day Is Done, Too Much Of Nothing, I Dig Rock & Roll Music and Don't Think Twice, It's All Right. Travers died in 2009.

    Anita Bryant had 11 chart hits, 1959-64. Paper Roses reached #5 on the Hot 100 in June 1960 and In My Little Corner Of The World got to #10 three months later. Among her other hits are Till There Was You, Wonderland By Night, One Of The Lonely Ones and I Can't Do It By Myself.

    Sam & Dave had a number-one R&B hit and #21 pop hit with Hold On! I'm Comin' in June 1966 and a number-one R&B hit and #2 pop hit with Soul Man in October 1967. Among their other hits are Soothe Me, I Thank You, You Got Me Hummin' and When Something Is Wrong With My Baby.

    Recording as the Whites, mandolinist/guitarist Buck White and his daughters Cheryl and Sharon had 12 consecutive top-40 country hits, 1982-87, including Hangin' Around, Pins & Needles, You Put The Blue In Me and I Wonder Who's Holding My Baby Tonight. Buck was the oldest member of the Grand Ole Opry. Sharon has been married to Ricky Skaggs since 1981.
