    Johnson played tuba, sax, clarinet and trumpet. He recorded four albums as a bandleader and nine as a member of the George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band and played on albums by John Lennon, Charles Mingus, Muddy Waters, Gil Evans, Gábor Szabó, Gato Barbieri, MIles Davis, Pharaoh Sanders, The Band and many others. Johnson was a member of the Saturday Night Live band from 1975 to 1980.

    Bogert recorded five albums with Vanilla Fudge, 1967-69. The quartet had a top-ten hit in 1968 with a rock ballad version of the Supremes' You Keep Me Hangin' On. Bogert recorded two albums as a member of the trio Beck, Bogert & Appice, 1972-74, and released two solo albums, Progressions in 1981 and Master's Brew in 1983.

    Siegfried and Roy performed together from 1957 to 2010. From 1990 to 2003, they – and their lions and tigers – appeared nightly at the Mirage in Las Vegas. At its peak, their show grossed nearly $60 million a year. Roy died of COVID-19 in May 2020.

    The punk-rock quintet The New York Dolls formed in 1971 in New York and broke up in 1976. A re-formed group with two original members was together from 2004 to 2011.     Spector produced records for the Ronettes, the Crystals, the Righteous Brothers, Ike & Tina Turner and many others. Spector's technique, which included strings, woodwind, brass and percussion with lots of reverb, was known as the "wall of sound" – and since 2009 he had been surrounded by the walls of a prison. He was sentenced to 19 years for the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson.
