The Republicans who have sold their souls and are blindly loyal members of the Cult of Donald Trump are, not surprisingly, refusing to denounce Trump's attempt to overturn Georgia's election results. Meanwhile, Trump is upset with the few Republicans who are not going along with his delusion that he won the election. He tweeted, "The 'Surrender Caucus' within the Republican Party will go down in infamy as weak and ineffective 'guardians' of our Nation, who were willing to accept the certification of fraudulent presidential numbers!" The numbers are not "fraudulent," delusional Donald. You lost the election. You are a loser. L-O-S-E-R. Loser!

Trump's demand that Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger "find" more votes for him is a violation of two federal statutes and one Georgia statute forbidding the solicitation of election fraud. Criminal charges should be filed against Trump. He believes he is above the law – but he isn't. Kathyrn Watson, a White House reporter for CBS News, says Trump's call "represents a new low in this whole futile and sorry episode. I commend Republican election officials across the country who have discharged their duties with integrity over the past two months while weathering relentless pressure, disinformation and attacks from the President and his campaign."

Tonight at a rally, Trump said he won Georgia but the election was rigged. He hopes Pence will "do the right thing" and reject Biden's electoral votes. It is scary how the crowds cheer him and believe all his lies.

I saw that on CNN. Trump was speaking at a rally for Georgia's two Republican Senate candidates. He also told the crowd, "I'm unhappy with the Supreme Court. If you're the President of the United States, you should be able to file a lawsuit if you get defrauded out of an election but they won't let us do that." He just doesn't get it. There was no fraud. None. He lost the election. Lost. Trump, his campaign and various Republicans filed 60 lawsuits seeking to overturn the election results. One is still undecided. The other 59 were all dismissed. And today, Republicans filed yet another lawsuit. It, too, has been thrown out.

Deranged, demented, delusional Donald continues to sink lower and lower. If he hasn't yet crossed the fine line that separates delusion from insanity, he must be getting awfully close.

As President Donald Trump's days in the White House grow increasingly numbered, his delusions about the 2020 election are growing. By a lot. "You can lose and that's acceptable," Trump said during a rally for Georgis Senators. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue on Monday night. "You lose, you lose. You go and you go wherever you're going and you go and say maybe I'll do it again sometime or maybe I won't or I get back to life. But when you win in a landslide and they steal it and it's rigged, it's not acceptable."

Moments later, Trump was back at it. "Over the past few weeks, we've demonstrated that we won the election in a landslide. Almost 75 million people voted for me," he said, to applause from the crowd. "The most of any incumbent president in the history of our country." Notice the repetition of the world "landslide" there. Trump has gone from saying he might have won in the days after the race was called to now saying he actually did win in a "landslide." Yes, Trump did get more than 74 million votes in the election – ut President-elect Joe Biden got 81 million.

On the Electoral College front, Trump took 232 electoral votes to Biden's 306. That's not a landslide for Biden (although Trump got the exact same number in 2016 and claimed a "massive landslide victory"). Judging by the progression of Trump's election delusions, he will have won the Electoral College 538-0 over Biden in a few weeks' time.

Deranged, demented, delusional Donald still refuses to concede the election. Today he told his blindly loyal supporters, "You don't concede when there's theft involved. Our country has had enough and we will not take it any more." What our country has had enough of is Trump.

The pro-Trump mob at the Capitol has been breaking windows and rioting. They believe Trump's lies that he won the election and it was stolen from him. National Guard troops are en route. Several police officers have been injured and one woman was shot in the chest and is in critical condition. One protester broke into Nancy Pelosi's office and left a note, "We will not back down." This is an insurrection. It is an attempted coup. It is truly frightening. Whatever happens, Trump is 100% responsible.

Joe Biden just spoke: "Our democracy is under unprecedented assault, unlike anything we've seen in modern times. An assault on a citadel of liberty, the Capitol itself. An assault on the rule of law. An assault on the most sacred of American undertakings, the doings of the people's business. The scenes at the nation's Capitol do not reflect the true America. This is not who we are. This is not dissent. It's disorder. It's chaos. It borders on sedition and it must end. Now. I call on President Trump to go on national television now and fulfill his oath to defend the Constitution and demand an end to this siege." Here is an update from CNN:

"Shortly after 1 PM ET, hundreds of pro-Trump protesters pushed through barriers set up along the perimeter of the Capitol, where they tussled with officers in full riot gear, some calling the officers 'traitors' for doing their jobs. About 90 minutes later, police said demonstrators got into the building and the doors to the House and Senate were being locked. Shortly after, the House floor was evacuated by police. An armed standoff was taking place at the House front door as of 3 PM ET, and police officers had their guns drawn at someone who is trying to breach it. A Trump supporter was also pictured standing at the Senate dais."

Demented, deranged, delusional Donald finally addressed the protesters – and he continues to insist he won the election. His little speech likely just made the situation worse:

"We had an election that was stolen from us. It was a landslide election and everyone knows it, especially the other side. But you have to go home now. We have to have peace. We have to have law and order. This was a fraudulent election but we can't play into the hands of these people. We have to have peace. So go home now."

"In the eyes of the world, American democracy tonight appears under siege," said European Union High Representative Josep Borrel. "This is an assault on US democracy, its institutions and the rule of law. This is not America." Unfortunately, this is America. It's America under Donald Trump.

At 6:01 PM ET, Trump tweeted, "These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!"

Wow.

And the woman who was shot in the chest during the protest has died.
