The 2020 Presidential election was six and a half months ago and Retrumplicans still can't accept the reality that their idol, Donald Trump, lost to Joe Biden. They still insist there was widespread voter fraud. Spoiler alert: There wasn't.

Judge allows self-described anti-fraud group to review Georgia ballots
    Reuters, May 21 2021 5:05 PM PDT

A Georgia judge today ordered Atlanta's Fulton County to unseal more than 145,000 absentee ballots cast during the November 2020 election, allowing self-described election integrity activists to evaluate the legitimacy of the ballots. Henry County Superior Court Judge Brian Amero, who is overseeing the case, ruled that Fulton County must unseal the ballots so the petitioners can inspect and scan them, not merely look at copies. The order paves the way for a second review of ballots by private groups who claim without evidence that widespread voting fraud in populous cities helped Joe Biden unfairly defeat then-President Donald Trump.

Replacing 394 vote tabulators could cost Maricopa County taxpayers several million dollars. I'm sure when they go to vote in 2022 and 2024, they will remember how the Retrumplicans wasted time and wasted money by conducting a pointless audit of ballots. The county results were certified by the Board of Supervisors and the statewide results were certified by Republican Governor Doug Ducey – and even if Trump had won Arizona (which he didn't), Joe Biden would still be President.

Maricopa County will need new voting machines after GOP's audit, Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs says
The machines must be replaced because election officials don't know what was done to them by the Republican auditors, she said.

Two of the most notorious Congresional Retrumplicans visited Maricopa County to show "solidarity" with the pointless, unnecessary audit of ballots and to spread The Big Lie that Trump won Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and the 2020 Presidential election. Trump lost – but Retrumplicans know they will incur Trump's wrath if they don't accept his Big Lie. In the Retrumplican party, the party of lies, Donald Trump is of supreme importance and the truth does not matter. Not in the slightest.

Before he left office, Donald Trump vowed to devote "150%" of his energy to proving he won the 2020 Presidential election and it was "stolen" from him. First, Donald, the most you can give is 100% – and second, you lost the election. Delusional Donald will never admit that, though, nor will his blindly loyal supporters who believe his lies or the Congressional Retrumplicans who believe his lies. Thus, we have audits, audits and more audits.

Arizona and Georgia audits move forward as Republicans continue to push election fraud lies
    CNN, May 24 2021 5:43 PM ET

A Republican-ordered audit of the 2.1 million votes cast last year in Arizona's Maricopa County resumed today amid the escalating intra-party fight between state Senators who sought the audit and county officials who have called it a sham. Meanwhile, in Georgia's Fulton County, another audit is set to move forward after a judge on Friday green-lit the unsealing of 147,000 mail-in ballots cast there in the 2020 election. It follows three audits, including a hand recount, that Georgia conducted last year.

The audits are a continuation of Republicans' search for justification for former President Donald Trump's lies that widespread fraud helped President Joe Biden defeat him in the 2020 election, a victory that included narrow Democratic wins in Arizona and Georgia. Trump's falsehoods have been embraced by a swath of GOP primary voters and by party officials eager to placate the former President and his supporters. Republican state lawmakers have introduced hundreds of bills across the nation this year that would make voting more difficult – and many of those bills have advanced or already been signed into law in states where Republicans control both the legislature and the Governor's office, including Georgia, Florida, Arizona and Texas.

Audits have yet to uncover any wrongdoing and cannot change the election's results months after votes were certified, the Electoral College voted and Biden was inaugurated.

We all know the expression, "Old soldiers never die. They just fade away." Well, thanks to the Retrumplicans, we have a new expression: "Old Presidential elections never die. They just keep getting audited.....and audited.....and audited....."

It's not just Arizona: Push to review 2020 ballots spreads
People who believe debunked conspiracy theories about the 2020 election are pushing for audits of ballots and voting machines in an increasing number of states.

Doug Logan, founder and CEO of cybersecurity firm Cyber Ninjas, helped spread Donald Trump's lies about "widespread election fraud" – and his company is leading the recount of the 2,089,563 votes cast in Maricopa County in the 2020 Presidential election. The recount is now 50% completed. Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs said the vote counters are "not going to produce a report that is valid. They don’t know what they’re doing." What they're doing is wasting time and money conducting a third – third! – audit of ballots, an audit which will not change anything. The results were certified by the county Board of Supervisors and the statewide results were certified by Retrumplican Governor Doug Ducey. Trump lost. Biden won. Get over it, Retrumplicans!

Arizona Secretary of State alleges procedure errors at audit
The Hill, June 2 2021 2:04 PM EDT

Observers working for Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs are keeping tabs on a mounting number of security flaws and procedural violations committed by ballot counters hired by the Republican-controlled state Senate to conduct an audit of votes cast in Maricopa County last year. In notes maintained over the past week, the observers noted confidential documents left in the open, a security gate that was left unlocked for several days and, at one point, a software update that was so riddled with errors and bugs that Cyber Ninjas, the cybersecurity company overseeing the audit, was forced to roll back to an earlier edition.

During the Trump administration, the Department of Justice existed not to serve the United States of America but to serve Donald Trump. Here is further proof – and how sad this is.

Trump's Chief of Staff Mark Meadows pressed Justice Dept. to Investigate election fraud claims
Emails show the increasingly urgent efforts by President Trump and his allies during his last days in office to find some way to undermine, or even nullify, the election results.

Kemp booed and Raffensperger censured at Georgia GOP convention
    CNN, Jun 5 2021 8:55 PM ET

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp was booed and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was censured at the Georgia GOP convention today, demonstrating former President Donald Trump's hold over members of the Georgia Republican Party. The reaction from members of the Georgia GOP comes months after both Kemp and Raffensperger refused to help the former President overturn the election results after his loss to Joe Biden. Trump has endorsed one of Raffensperger's primary opponents, GOP Representative Jody Hice, who has embraced the ex-President's falsehoods about the election.

Donald Trump becomes more deranged, more demented and more delusional with every passing day. Somewhere a padded cell is waiting.

Trump dwells on 2020 during North Carolina event aimed at helping Republicans in 2022
    CNN, Jun 5 2021 11:15 PM ET

Former President Donald Trump today dashed the hopes of Republicans who spent the weeks leading up to his public re-emergence encouraging him to keep his focus on policy and Democratic shortcomings, rather than re-litigating his 2020 election loss once again. In an 85-minute speech to North Carolina Republicans gathered for their annual state convention, Trump baselessly claimed that his defeat by Joe Biden last November was "the crime of the century" and likened the 2020 Presidential contest to a "third-world" election. "Remember," Trump told the crowd after repeating numerous falsehoods about widespread election fraud, "I am not the one who is trying to undermine American democracy. I am the one who is trying to save it."
