Kim Jong-un threatens war with United States

Kim Jong-un vows to take on Trump with 'merciless' strikes on South Korea and American bases as China warns of imminent war
New Zealand Herald, Apr 15 2017 7:22 AM

North Korea upped its warmongering with Donald Trump today in a series of menacing boasts threatening to "ravage" US troops amid fears the two countries are heading for war. The secretive state vowed to "pulverise" US bases and South Korean capital Seoul if it was threatened by the US military, which is carrying out drills on the Korean peninsula. A US aircraft carrier group is steaming towards the region, the Daily Mail reported. The rhetoric comes after North Korea warned that President Donald Trump's "troublemaking" and "aggressive" tweets have pushed the world to the brink of thermonuclear war. Pyongyang's Vice Minister Han Song Ryol accused Trump of building up a "vicious cycle" of tensions and warned the US against provoking North Korea militarily. He said, "We will go to war if they choose." He added the country would continue developing its nuclear programme and conduct its next nuclear test whenever its leaders see fit.

Rex Tillerson says US is talking with North Korea on nuclear program

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articl...tillerson-says

That story is from September 30. One day later, we got this story:

Trump says Rex Tillerson is 'wasting his time' trying to negotiate with 'Little Rocket Man'

    http://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-says...174248915.html

And today, October 16, it appears That Tillerson really is wasting his time:

North Korea won't talk with US until it builds ICBM that can reach US mainland, official says

Kim Jong-un is an immature hot-headed thin-skinned world leader with access to nuclear weapons. Donald Trump is also an immature hot-headed thin-skinned world leader with access to nuclear weapons. I fear this escalating tension between the US and North Korea will not end well.

North Korea warns countries: Don't join any US action and you're safe
    Reuters, Oct 16 2017 3:07 PM

North Korea warned countries at the United Nations on Monday in a statement: don't join the United States in military action against the Asian state and you will be safe from retaliation. The caution was contained in a copy of North Korean Deputy U.N. Ambassador Kim In Ryong's prepared remarks for a discussion on nuclear weapons by a U.N. General Assembly committee. However, Kim did not read that section out loud. "As long as one does not take part in the U.S. military actions against the DPRK (North Korea), we have no intention to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against any other country," according to Kim's prepared remarks. "The entire U.S. mainland is within our firing range and if the U.S. dares to invade our sacred territory even an inch it will not escape our severe punishment in any part of the globe."

"Break out"? Does that mean the nuclear war will happen all by itself?

Another day, another threat -- and I don't think we can afford to think Kim Jong-un is bluffing.

North Korea vows to unleash 'unimaginable' nuclear strike on US
New York Daily News, Oct 19 2017 12:42 PM

North Korea has issued another threat of nuclear annihilation against the U.S. The warning comes as American military forces conduct ongoing joint naval exercises with South Korea. "The U.S. is running amok by introducing under our nose the targets we have set as primary ones," North Korean state news agency KCNA said in a statement. "The U.S. should expect that it would face an unimaginable strike at an unimaginable time. The rabid man in the White House will first face the immense volley of nuclear fire if he hopes to settle this confrontation with nukes."

    From Business Insider:

North Korea has threatened to detonate a nuclear device aboveground.
Such a test could turn China, and the world, against it. The US may even strike to prevent it, but North Korea may do it anyway.

North Korea warns Australia against Trump in 'unprecedented' letter
    Newsy, Oct 21 2017 12:48 PM

North Korea is urging countries to distance themselves from the Trump administration. The Sydney Morning Herald published a letter North Korea's Foreign Affairs Committee sent to Australia's embassy in Indonesia. It reads in part, "If Trump thinks that he would bring the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, a nuclear power, to its knees through nuclear war threat, it will be a big miscalculation and an expression of ignorance." The letter urges governments to "discharge their due mission and duty in realizing the desire of mankind for international justice and peace with sharp vigilance against the heinous and reckless moves of the Trump administration trying to drive the world into a horrible nuclear disaster." Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop called North Korea's letter "unprecedented."
