The Clippers got a big win against the Warriors tonight, 125 to 106. In the second quarter, Kevin Durant scored his 20,000th point. He is the second youngest player to reach 20,000 points. The youngest was LeBron James.

Something funny happened tonight except the Warriors probably did not think it was funny. They beat Cleveland and the temperature outside was only 27. Then when they went to take showers, there was no hot water. ESPN did not say if the Cavaliers had hot water but the Warriors definitely did not. ESPN said they were all screaming and shivering.
LeBron James and Stephen Curry got the most votes and they will be the captains at the All Star Game. The game will be on February 18 at Staples Center. I do not care which side wins. It is just fun to see all the best players together.
Milwaukee fired coach Jason Kidd today. Joe Brunty is the new coach for now but ESPN says they may try to get Sam Cassell from the Clippers or Adrian Griffin from Oklahoma City. They are assistant coaches right now.
Kobe Bryant wrote a poem called "Dear Basketball" and it was made into a cartoon about his career. The cartoon has been nominated for an Oscar for best animated short. Has anybody here seen it?
In his first game after being traded from the Clippers to the Pistons, Blake Griffin scored 24 points and had 10 rebounds and five assists. Lauren Thiesen, Deadspin sports blogger, was impressed:
Blake Griffin looked extremely worth it in his Pistons debut

In 2009, Griffin fractured his left kneecap in the Clippers' final preseason game and wound up missing the entire 2009-10 season. In 2010-11, he played in all 82 games and averaged 22.5 points per game. He averaged at least 20 points per game in seven of his eight seasons with the Clippers. On January 29, 2018, Griffin, Willie Reed and Brice Johnson were traded to Detroit in exchange for Avery Bradley, Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanović and two draft picks. Clippers fans are understandably upset by the trade but Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune calls the Clippers a "mediocre" team and thinks the trade was a good move:
As ugly as it went down, Clippers made right move trading Griffin

I like the Clippers but they have never made it past the second round in the playoffs so they had to make some changes. I hope getting rid of Blake Griffin does not turn out to be a big mistake. Part of the problem is that the Clippers always have a lot of players who are injured. They also need to make more three-point shots.
Lou Costello could never understand Who's on first, What's on second and I Don't Know is on third. Imagine how hard it would have been for him to understand all these complicated trades:
Cavaliers reshape their roster with a series of trades
The Associated Press, Feb 8 2018 12:45 PM
With the stunning force of a LeBron James dunk, the Cavaliers shattered their roster today. Cleveland completely changed its look — and perhaps its chances of winning an NBA title this season — with a stunning sequence of trades before the deadline. The Cavaliers traded guard Isaiah Thomas, forward Channing Frye and one of their two first-round picks to the Los Angeles Lakers for point guard Jordan Clarkson and forward Larry Nance Jr.
The Cavaliers then completed a three-team deal with Utah and Sacramento. Cleveland sent guard Derrick Rose and forward Jae Crowder to the Jazz for forward Rodney Hood. They'll receive guard George Hill from the Kings in exchange for guard Iman Shumpert. And if all that wasn't enough, the Cavaliers then dealt 36-year-old Dwyane Wade to Miami for a heavily protected second-round pick. It's a homecoming for Wade, who played 13 seasons in Miami, winning three NBA titles — two of them with James. The massive makeover is intended to help the Cavaliers make another title run in 2018 with James, who can opt out of his contract this summer and become a free agent.

The Clippers did not make any more trades today. The Cavaliers were trying to get Lou Williams and DeAndre Jordan but Williams just got a three-year contract extension and Jordan is staying with the Clippers too.
Steve Kerr is the coach of the Warriors but last night he let some of the players take turns coaching and they beat the Suns. Now some people are saying he was disrespectful but I do not think he was. He was showing his players that he trusts them and now he says he might let them coach again.
