    Barstool Sports to launch new 24/7 channel on SiriusXM

    SiriusXM and Barstool Sports, a leading comedy, sports and men's lifestyle brand, are teaming up to launch a new 24/7 channel on SiriusXM starting in January 2018. The Barstool Radio channel will air nationwide on satellite radios and on the SiriusXM app and will showcase the site's funny, irreverent and unfiltered approach to covering sports, men's lifestyle, popular culture and more. The news was announced by Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy. (Link below.)

    Last December, SiriusXM and Barstool teamed up to launch a daily show, Barstool Radio, hosted by Dave Portnoy, Kevin Clancy and additional Barstool personalities. The new daily lineup on the Barstool Radio channel will feature Barstool Radio, a rotation of existing Barstool podcasts and new original shows. Additional details will be announced at a later date.

    LL Cool J to present his own curated classic hip-hop channel exclusively on SiriusXM

    SiriusXM announced today that entertainment icon and Grammy Award-winner LL Cool J will present his own classic hip-hop channel, Rock The Bells Radio, exclusively on SiriusXM. The channel, expected to launch in early 2018, will feature a wide range of classic hip-hop content, music, interviews and in-depth retrospectives curated and presented by LL Cool J, as well as other innovators of hip-hop music. An homage to the greats who helped create the music of hip-hop, Rock The Bells Radio will become the bridge between generations of hip-hop and a community where everyone's love of the culture can come together. "My love for hip-hop runs deep and I'm passionate about restoring its legacy of respect," says LL. "SiriusXM's Rock The Bells Radio is a creative community where generations embrace programming that pays respect to the forefathers of the culture while evolving it at the same time."

    (Rock The Bells was also the name of a series of hip-hop music festivals that took place from 2004 to 2013 in the US, Canada and several other countries.)

    Bruno Mars (real name: Peter Hernandez) has had three top-ten albums and five number-one singles. On November 19 he won seven American Music awards, including Artist Of The Year. A limited-run Bruno Mars channel will launch at 9 AM Eastern time January 2, 2018, on SiriusXM Channel 4.

    Stanford Legal, a bi-weekly program hosted by Stanford law professors Pamela Karlan and Joseph Bankman, will debut at 10 AM Eastern time December 9 on SiriusXM Channel 121, Insight. Scholars and newsmakers will join the hosts to discuss legal issues relating to marijuana, taxes, mining, travel bans, gun ownership, gay rights, religious freedom and other matters.

    Following Steve Bannon's announcement today that he is stepping down as executive chairmen of right-wing website Breitbart News, SiriusXM issued this probably-unnecessary statement regarding his hosting duties on the Breitbart News Daily program heard on channel 127, Progress:

    "Breitbart News has decided to end its relationship with Stephen K. Bannon, therefore he will no longer host on SiriusXM since our programming agreement is with Breitbart News."
