Tonight the Astros beat the Yankees in game 7 of the American League championship series to win only the second pennant in their 56-year history. The Astros will face the Dodgers in the 2017 World Series. Game one will take place October 24 at Dodger Stadium.

Tom Lasorda has been with the Dodgers organization since 1950. He was the manager when they won the World Series in 1988. Last month when he turned 90, he jokingly said he'd be angry if he died and went to heaven before the Dodgers won another World Series.

Tommy might get his wish. Tonight the Dodgers won game 1 against the Astros, 3-1. Three more wins to go!

The Astros won game two, 7 to 6, in eleven innings. The game set a record for most home runs in a World Series game. The Astros hit four and the Dodgers hit four. That adds up to.....umm.....eight. Games 3, 4 and 5 will be in Houston. Games 6 and 7, if necessary, will be in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers' Yu Darvish gave up four runs and lasted just one and two-thirds innings. It was the shortest outing of his career. The Astros win game three, 5 to 3.

Am I the only baseball fan here? Am I the only active participant here? Another site I could name gets two to three times as many posts in one day as Sirius Buzz gets in an entire month. Another site I could name was shut down a few years ago because, gradually, most of the members quit participating and posting. I know I'm a "new kid" here and I shouldn't be lecturing.....but I would love to see more people sharing news and opinions here. Sirius Buzz is a forum. At least it's supposed to be.

Dodgers win game four, 6-2. They held the Astros to two hits. (One was a home run.)

Twenty-five runs were scored in game 5, four shy of the record for most runs in a single World Series game. Houston beat the Dodgers 13 to 12 in ten innings. Game 6 is October 31 at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers will be hoping for a win. That would be a treat, not a trick. (Sorry.) Game 7, if necessary, will be November 1.

The Dodgers have been in nine World Series since moving from Brooklyn to Los Angeles in 1958. There has never been a decisive Game 7 at Dodger Stadium.....until now. The Dodgers beat Houston tonight, 3 to 1, to force a seventh game. Oooh, the tension! The drama! The excitement!

Fifty-nine years since moving to Los Angeles, the Dodgers are still "dem bums." The Astros won game seven tonight, 5 to 1, to secure their first-ever World Series championship. Okay, Dodgers fans, everybody say it with me: "Wait till next year!"
