SIRI Daily Thread Thu 2.21.13 - Red Alert Thursday

Morning Everyone. I guess the market was spooked by the Federal Reserve comments yesterday.

A couple of us are considering moving over some of our more "risky" investments into more of a dividend basket of sorts. One of the stocks we are purchasing is Cullen Frost Bankers, Inc. (CFRPP) or (CFRPRA) or (CFR-A). The stock is preferred and is currently trading in the gray sheets waiting to hit the NYSE in 30 days. If you run over to Yahoo or your broker, you will see it trading but you won't see the bid/ask price. You will have to call your broker for that information (phone quotes only). It's currently trading under it's PAR Value of $25 around $24.41 - $24.60 AND it pays a nice 5.35% dividend. The first installment is $.45 payable June 15th. Not too shabby. So bottom line is you can you buy this stock under below it's market price before it hits the NYSE. When it hits it will be trading under CFR-A. You can go over to SA to read more about it

Man...what's a guy to do with SIRI? Bought in at 3.14? hmmmm

Edit: I mean I still believe SXM is buying back shares and they started immediately after the last CC. I think I'll ride this one out...heck it wouldn't be the first time with SIRI.

Well, SIRI printed a 3.07 today, so the potential Elliot wave pattern that I thought I had identified is no longer valid with that print. I will provide another update after attempting to re-configure where SIRI is at in it's wave pattern.

SIRI printed a $3.02 as well... Are you guys going to cash or loading up on the dips. We could have some solar flares soon...

I wonder if this was the cause of the stock price dropping (SIRI).

I hate the stock market with all the heat of a solar flare!

Maybe in 10 years I'll understand what "dry powder" means...when the market crashes even safe stocks crash, at least to support, and I can't sell at support to buy something (siri) at my target (3.04) without CASH.

    Frustrated!

I jumped on the May $2.50 calls this morning for a quick flip, that's the plan anyway.

Hear ya...I split the difference and sold 50% at $3.09 (loss). Needed to create some powder. I feel better for doing it at this moment

Lately....my best trades have been at losses...which I'm actually somewhat encouraged with.

I know green stocks have taken beating over at Seeking Alpha lately but could they be wrong? Take a look at this article that was published today:

Are we gearing up for another possible run? Giddy Up Horsey!
