"Never worked a real day in his life" Obviously works harder than you. You spend an awful lot of
time here for someone who claims to have a "real" job. Lol

Yes, Its true we shouldnt be in this position. Of course I never heard you place any blame on Republican/ Bush policies
(Iraq and Afghanistan war off the books etc.) or call out derivative trading bankers etc.

Most Economists who have studied the Great Depression will tell you that after the initial attempts to stimulate the economy, there was a push for austerity that prolonged and deepened the depression.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. And it's deja vu all over again.

There are many who claim that what pulled the US out of the Great Depression was WWII, to which I would add that WWII brought on a tremendous economic stimulus by government spending.

If we are to use government stimulus to shorten economic downturns, then this really should be followed by government contraction during economic upturns. Unfortunately, very few politicians implement what the really bright Economists tell them to do. Instead, politicians look out for their own re-election. Nowadays that means campaign contributions from corporate sources, like the Military Industrial Complex, Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Insurance, and Big Finance.
