In a conference with Citigroup today Sirius XM CEO Mel Karmazin announced that the company added 540,000 net subscribers in Q4 of 2011, a number that represents a beat of subscriber guidance by about 100,000!

Ho, more news like this and SIRI may very well meet Spencer's and / or Tyler's price target.

Spencer… Mel has announced he is speaking at the CITI event Jan 04th. Why else would speak unless to announce that SIRI has met sub numbers of 442k? Or is this a pre-emptive strike? Any theories on what you think might be coming?

He was invited to speak as a keynote speaker. This will be similar to other conferences he has spoken about. He could divulge something, but likely most of the talk will be about the future of the company.

Our subscriber growth accelerated in 2011 as net additions grew approximately 20%, delivering our best year for net additions since the merger and demonstrating the strong continuing demand for our unmatched audio content,” said Mel Karmazin, Chief Executive Officer, SiriusXM.
