    January 4, 2012 (4:39 pm) Spencer
In a conference with Citigroup today Sirius XM CEO Mel Karmazin announced that the company added 540,000 net subscribers in Q4 of 2011, a number that represents a beat of subscriber guidance by about 100,000!

I currently have them between 430,000 and 470,000 or so. Right on the cusp. I have a lot more crunching to do still.

    File under "Egg on Face"

. . . seems like only yesterday David Bank was waxing poetic about the coming "ubiquity of internet radio"

Ho, more news like this and SIRI may very well meet Spencer's and / or Tyler's price target.

Spencer… Mel has announced he is speaking at the CITI event Jan 04th. Why else would speak unless to announce that SIRI has met sub numbers of 442k? Or is this a pre-emptive strike? Any theories on what you think might be coming?

He was invited to speak as a keynote speaker. This will be similar to other conferences he has spoken about. He could divulge something, but likely most of the talk will be about the future of the company.

NEW YORK – January 4, 2012 – Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) at a conference today announced that it ended the year with nearly 21.9 million subscribers, reporting approximately 540,000 net new subscribers in the fourth quarter and approximately 1,700,000 for the full year 2011.

    · “Based on preliminary subscriber data, we are very pleased to announce that SiriusXM exceeded its subscriber guidance for the year. Our subscriber growth accelerated in 2011 as net additions grew approximately 20%, delivering our best year for net additions since the merger and demonstrating the strong continuing demand for our unmatched audio content,” said Mel Karmazin, Chief Executive Officer, SiriusXM.

Now listen here Lloyd . . . you quit wasting time tracking my pronouncements!

Blow the dust off that project of yours and get back to work . . . otherwise you'll soon be working like Spencer for $0.10 an hour!

Happy New Year. I just couldn't help remembering all the panic about inflation from you
and Siriuslywrong last year. You guys have been awful silent of late.

Now get back to Spencer's Slacker comments and let him have it.

    Project is going well.

Panic? Only in your mind can an expressed concern turn into panic.

Project? You've been working on it for years now.

Silent? Perhaps you've avoided all the great posts made in the Politics thread lol.
