I personally like the Civil War period.

Blacks were not "uppity"; they liked being slaves; women were pretty much chattel; guns were FUN; oh hell, things were just simpler then.

Why can't we just have those times when everything was obviously better; you know, no fags, no dental, no major medical, no long lives; but food was dangerous some times, unless you killed it yourself; limited science knowledge; no treating animals well; no transportation to speak of, and damn, it was slow too; religion strangling everything and southerners thinking they should do whatever the hell they wanted - okay, that's going on now too but you can't have it all.

A friend says: You weak men that don't like a livin in a log cabin, shittin in the woods, freezin in the winter, roastin in the summer, and sweepin a dirt floor are soft, I tell ya. Ma smelled bad sumtime but then I suppos I did too, I guess. Kep her home jus like I wanted though; My chilluns were always sick, but, well, we didn't have to pay no doctor to help them because little helped - sep mustard plasters. And they was hard to get since they was used for most everythin that was ailin ya.

But we liked it. Simple livin is the best. Sep when there's no work sep farmin here. Damn how I miss those days. Everthin was great!

    Nah

Liberals will see it for what it is, humor.

    Conservatives will agree with it.

So, no problem. But I appreciate your sincere concern. It's very touching.

I love you too! More than you know.
