FOX beats out all 3 other cable news channels COMBINED.

Thats right FOX gets more viewers then all the rest combined. Is it any wonder people are switching to FOX when all the other MSM was totally unaware of the displeased American public.

    Reasons

A media that has never been liberal and is now more stupid and beholden to money and power than ever before; media conglomeration that has facilitated this; and a profit-only mentality that feeds the public’s interest in superficial celebrity/sports/entertainment driven “news;”

    Those that are anti-science and anti-intellectual being given as much time as they want to promote their ridiculous and dangerous ideas and propaganda; print and cable outlets that are devoted to delivering this crap; citizens with no critical thinking skills, lazy, and, as such, are prey for manipulation and propaganda; self-help and phony “motivational” hucksters raking in millions by claiming to supply ordinary people and corporations with essential rules for life and work; “you too can succeed beyond your wildest dreams”;

    Anyone speaking out against any of these problems being accused of being a subversive; one who is un-American, a socialist, a communist, an atheist, a liberal, someone who hates our free-market, god-given capitalistic society;

Welcome to America. This is some of what we are. Enjoy!

Yes that is why you will never wake up Adumbical. Really you think it is some kind of quintessence that FOX reports on what has happen well in advance (if ever) of all the other media. Ho yes I watched CNN and I could not believe I heard David Girgin say, "Yes these Tea Partyies flew under the wire of the MSM until Scott Brown". He is right because if you did not watch FOX you did not see what was coming.

While FOX talked about the anger out there about healthcare and showed the town halls. MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, the NYT, the Washington Post, and any other liberial biased MSM said: Ho these grandmas and grandpas are, right wingers, Neo Nazis, or just crazy and dont reflect most of the country.

While FOX said the Tea party is growing and starting to become a force to be reconed with. MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, the NYT, the Washington Post, and any other liberial biased MSM said: Ho there just a bunch of right wing crazies and dont reflect most of the country.

While FOX showed all the polls (including the one that showed people in favor of heathcare) going against the governments take over of health care. MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, the NYT, the Washington Post, and any other liberial biased MSM showed you the one poll that said the people were in favor of government healthcare.

That is why people watch FOX and that is why people are switching in droves. and believe me MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, the NYT, the Washington Post, are all paying and are going to keep paying for not reporting on Obama before he was elected. Ho they own him and getting him elected.

Fox, The Sewage and Anti-Human Network

Hope less: Fox News stands virtually alone in not airing Haiti benefit concert

On January 22, a wide variety of broadcast, cable, radio, and internet outlets, including CNN and MSNBC, preempted their regularly scheduled prime-time programming and aired Hope for Haiti Now, a benefit concert and telethon to raise funds for Haiti earthquake relief. But even after receiving criticism for giving little coverage to the devastating earthquake in Haiti on its top-rated programs, Fox News did not preempt its programming and air the benefit concert, instead broadcasting regular editions of The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity.

CNN, MSNBC, and others carry Hope for Haiti Now -- but not Fox News

CNN, MSNBC preempt prime time schedule to air MTV Network's Hope for Haiti Now. On January 22, numerous media outlets aired MTV Networks' Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief, a telethon and concert "to raise funds for Haiti after last week's devastating earthquake." Beginning at 8 p.m. ET, CNN and MSNBC preempted their usual prime time coverage to air the special. According to MTV, the following media outlets also carried the benefit:

"Hope for Haiti Now" will air across ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1, CMT, PBS, TNT, Showtime, Comedy Central, Bravo, E! Entertainment, National Geographic Channel, Oxygen, G4, CENTRIC, Current TV, Fuse, MLB Network, EPIX, Palladia, SoapNet, Style, Discovery Health, Planet Green, CNN en Espaol, HBO Latino and Canadian networks, including CBC Television, CTV, Global Television and MuchMusic. The event will be live streamed online globally across sites including YouTube, Hulu, MySpace, Fancast, AOL, MSN.com, Yahoo, Bing.com, BET.com, CNN.com, MTV.com, VH1.com and Rhapsody, and on mobile via Alltel, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and FloTV. "Hope for Haiti Now" will also air internationally on BET International, CNN International, National Geographic and MTV Networks International, which is available in 640 million homes worldwide. "Hope for Haiti Now" will be available non-exclusively to all terrestrial radio stations around the globe and SIRIUS XM Radio as a one-time-only radio broadcast via the MTV Radio Network and Westwood One.

MTV's press release stated of Hope for Haiti Now's proceeds:

"Hope for Haiti Now" will benefit Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF, United Nations World Food Programme, Yele Haiti Foundation and the newly formed Clinton Bush Haiti Foundation. Proceeds from the telethon will be split among each organization's individual funds for Haiti earthquake relief. With the exception of the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, each partner organization was selected for its history of operation and collaboration within the NGO community in Haiti.

Fox News airs regular broadcasts of The O'Reilly Factor, Hannity. During its 8 and 9 p.m. ET hours, while CNN and MSNBC pre-empted their programming to air the benefit, Fox News aired its regularly scheduled broadcasts of The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity. On his program, Bill O'Reilly aired segments about Sarah and Bristol Palin's "body language" during their Oprah interview, an interview with Glenn Beck about his first year at Fox News, and a segment on the "collapse" of the "far left media." Similarly, Hannity's broadcast included an interview with Karl Rove on the Obama administration's approval ratings and health care reform, as well as a segment on the Democratic Party's reaction to Scott Brown's election.

Top Fox programs devoted far less coverage to Haiti earthquake than MSNBC
Day after earthquake, MSNBC's top programs devoted significantly more time to earthquake than Fox's. On January 13, Fox News' three top-rated programs for 2009 -- The O'Reilly Factor, Hannity, and Glenn Beck -- devoted a combined total of less than 7 minutes of coverage to the earthquake in Haiti, instead choosing to air such things as Beck's hour-long interview with Sarah Palin, Bill O'Reilly's discussion of Comedy Central host Jon Stewart, and Sean Hannity's advocacy for Massachusetts candidate Scott Brown's Senate campaign. By contrast, the content of MSNBC's three top-rated shows underscored the significance of the Haiti disaster; Countdown, The Rachel Maddow Show, and Hardball devoted a total of more than two hours to the earthquake.

After criticism, Fox still devoted scant coverage to Haiti. After receiving criticism for giving little coverage to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Fox News' three top-rated programs for 2009 devoted scant coverage to the disaster for a second night on January 14 -- a combined total of 20 minutes and 40 seconds on January 14 -- while MSNBC's three top-rated shows devoted more than an hour and 45 minutes to discussing Haiti. The vast majority of the coverage on Fox's top-rated shows aired on The O'Reilly Factor; Beck's and Hannity's shows each aired less than four minutes of coverage of the disaster.

O'Reilly lashes out at Media Matters, LA Times' Rainey over criticism of Fox's Haiti coverage. On the January 18 edition of The O'Reilly Factor, O'Reilly attacked those who had criticized his coverage of Haiti -- including Media Matters and Los Angeles Times writer James Rainey -- adding: "By the way, Fox News, our coverage on Haiti has been terrific. Our correspondents have been great."

FOX news has covered Haiti several times a day since it happen. I know some would like more but the fact is, MOST dont want more then what FOX has done, that is why they are the most watched and are growing with each day.

Maybe you should get on the BBC and other foreign news agencies because at last count the USA is still the largest BY FAR giver (in multibleS) of ad NOT ONLY to Haiti but around the world.

You sound alot like Hugo Chivhes critizing America after only sending one plane.

Fox News: The Most Trusted Name In News?

There has been a lot of buzz about a poll released yesterday by the crew over at PPP (PDF File). And the headlines all hit on a similar theme:

Poll: Fox most trusted name in news -- Politico
Poll: Fox most-trusted news outlet -- Boston Herald
New Poll: Majority of Americans Trust Fox -- WTVD-TV (Raleigh)

There's only one small problem. A cursory look inside the numbers reveals that, for a strong majority of Americans, the exact opposite is true. Indeed, the poll tells us quite a different story: for more than three-fifths of Americans, Fox News is the least trusted media outlet of them all.

    And it's not even close.

Fox's pole position on the PPP poll rests solely on one thing: the fact that conservatives are evidently petrified at the thought of having their worldview challenged in any way, shape or form. Therefore, they trust Fox. And only Fox.

Look at the very telling way in which conservatives responded on the issue of trust and American media outlets:

Conservative Trust Of Media Outlets (Yes/No)--PPP Poll 1/26/10
    FOX NEWS: 75/13
    CNN: 22/60
    ABC NEWS: 16/67
    NBC NEWS: 15/66
    CBS NEWS: 14/68

Contrast those results with those among liberal voters, who seem to lack the near-universal faith in the infallibility of any media outlet that conservatives clearly have for the Fox News brand:

Liberal Trust of Media Outlets (Yes/No)--PPP Poll 1/26/10
    NBC NEWS: 64/22
    CNN: 63/21
    CBS NEWS: 56/29
    ABC NEWS: 50/31
    FOX NEWS: 26/66

Generally speaking, liberals have more trust than mistrust of media outlets, but nowhere near the lopsided fealty that we see from conservatives. They also, not surprisingly, find Fox News to be the least trusted news source, and by a landslide.

But what about those prized moderates? How do they perceive the major media outlets? The results would certainly appear to fly in the face of the whole "Fox is the most trusted name in news" meme:

Moderate Trust of Media Outlets (Yes/No)--PPP Poll 1/26/10
    CNN: 47/31
    NBC NEWS: 44/33
    CBS NEWS: 41/33
    ABC NEWS: 39/34
    FOX NEWS: 33/48

    Imagine that.

Let's be clear: with 61% of Americans (liberals made up 14% of the poll, and moderates made up 47%), Fox News is the least trusted name in news. And they are the least trusted outlet by a decisive margin.

This confirms something that bloggers on the left have been arguing for years. The success of Fox News is not due to their superior product, nor is it the result of providing a valuable service to a center-right nation.

It stems exclusively from the fact that liberals and moderates are willing to avail themselves of the entire array of media offerings available to them, while conservatives are so convinced of their own victimhood on all matters media-related that they will pledge unwavering allegiance to a friendly media outlet.

It was a point underscored by PPP's own Tom Jensen in his analysis of their poll:
These numbers suggest quite a shift in what Americans want from their news. A generation ago Walter Cronkite was the most trusted man in the country because of his neutrality. Now people trust Fox the most precisely because of its lack of neutrality. It says a lot about where journalism is headed.

Anyone seeking to explain the popularity of Fox News, Rush, and Beck, or conversely seeking to explain why liberal alternatives like Air America are predestined to struggle, now have some very compelling data with which to make their case.
