    Question Need Some Advice

Hi all, I recently started a Sirius trial and decided that I love it and would like to subscribe. Additionally, I've recently purchased a new vehicle, and upgraded the stock speakers. Next up is a new head unit, and I will get something that is satellite-ready.

I will most likely get the JVC Arsenal KD-AHD59 (http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_1...9.html?tp=5684). I was planning on getting the JVC connection kit from Crutchfield as well (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_700SIRJ....html?tp=28024) which allows controlling the satellite radio through the headunit. However, I see on Crutchfield's site that there are several negative reviews indicating that the kit has issues.

I am looking for advice on the best way to get satellite in my car. My priorities are sound quality followed by interior aesthetics. That means I will get a separate unit and connect it via Aux if it sounds or works better, but I would prefer an integrated solution for looks.

What is the best way to do this? Thanks in advance.

Integrated solutions always look and sound the best, although they aren't as versatile. If you have the integrated option then it is solely used for the car. Sure, you can get a unit for the home but that drives up subscription costs. If you can afford it I would go with the integrated system then maybe a plug and play unit for the home and a boombox. But if you are trying to save cash, you could use a plug and play radio, like a starmate 5, and still have it integrated in the clarion. Here is what you will need:

    http://www.tss-radio.com/sirius-conn...c1-p-5641.html

These two products will allow you to have factory integrated sirius and still be able to remove the unit and put it into a home kit or boombox and keep your subscription costs down. I would definitely consider this as an option.

I will use the online player at home and work. I am a very tech-oriented person so I have Internet everywhere, Sirius on my iPhone, etc. I would only need the actual satellite player for the car, so it sounds like that would be my best bet.

I did some more research, and it seems like the JVC setup is the only one that experiences issues; all the other brands I looked at had no negative reviews or reports of problems. I found an all-in-one package from Kenwood that includes a head unit with similar features as well as all the satellite equipment at a considerable discount. I think I will go with that. Thanks for the advice!

I'd still be curious to hear from anyone who has an integrated setup like this and what their thoughts are, especially regarding how much of a quality improvement there is over a plug and play device.
