Is the sound quality in your car roughly the same as the premium internet feed???

Yes, if your listening to CDs or MP3s they come in at about 128k to 256k, but SATRAD.......
No.......it's not the same thing, there is no WMA 128k that comes outta the sky, it's more like 32k to 42k for SATRAD....Terrestrial FM radio is only 42k to 48K, so there isn't much of difference between FM & SATRAD.......except for the coverage area, SATRAD covers the whole USA/CAN & parts of Mexico, where as FM is limited to only a local listening area.....

Nowhere near as good.
Popular stations like the decade stations seem to get a higher bit rate. Even then I would say it sounds no better than 64 kps (kilobits per second). The premium internet stream is 128 kps. The sateliite stream is sufficient for the car unless you have a super quiet car.
Thanks for the info!
Is FM-5 the sat they just launched going to improve the sound quality for in car systems?
No, it will only improve coverage. Sound quality can not improve until they merge the spectrum years from now
