the 911 trade- yes i read about the MM signals, but im not sure they are still in use now that more retailers have level 2 and are more savvy in trading. it is definitely odd though. and it is very possible that a retailer could have done it on purpose to start this type of rumor. it was only a 15 or 20 dollar trade(including commisions).
bottom line is i dont know and tomorrow or the next couple of trading days will tell us if it meant anything. then we can have a heads up on similiar signals in the future.
it would also be nice to find out which market maker it was that made that trade and keep a note on it and its possible result.

I have missed you. I have been working and you have been playing poker, I assume. Ray isn't going anywhere. He is one of the founding fathers of this thread.
I know that MM's used to signal and like you say, people didn't use to have access to level II or three and they did signal. I think signals now days can still be used for quick direction indications by MM's as far as which direction they want to go and other things like possibly a 911 at the EOD to indicate that they are all on the same page, but I don't know any of this for sure. Like you say though, it is worth keeping a sharp eye on....

Ya Dave, you just never know the motivation and to use such an obvious number at the end of the day could be a trick. Let's just watch and see what happens though. I have seen 911's before. Good thinking.
