One other thing, though. Looking at the install in the trunk of the Avalon I've noticed that the wiring from the receiver/tuner is inside a "tube" and it terminates in one connection at the bottom of the receiver which tells me that both signal and power wiring are contained within the "tube". The antennae wire is outside of the tube but taped to it at points. The antennae plugs in at the top of the receiver. Is this enough insulation between the two? I've suspected the SIGMA antennae might be a big part of this problem. I mentioned to Sirius CSR that the reception with the SIGMA is not as consistent as with the Sportster 5 hockey puck but they kind of blew that off. The signal with the SIGMA will drop in and out but be constant with the hockey puck on the same route.
