    Did Apple make any announcements

Has anyone heard from Apple's mouth if they are working with Sirius on their Satellite Radio application for their iPod Touch and iPhone in Q2 ? Anything from Apple at all that says they have tested the app etc. etc.. ?
All I see if simply Sirius talking about it but no ACK from Apple.

You wont hear anything from Apple because they have nothing to do with the creation of the application. This is Sirius XM's problem and their problem alone to complete this application and have it made available to the public.

Your partially correct. Sirius is responsible for design and submission of the app, however its in Apples complete hands if and when the above mentioned app gets approved and the public can then access it.

That is not true. Apple has a developer guideline for all iPhone applications, if the creator of the application meets the guidelines then the application is approved. They don't have people sitting around picking favorites and playing God.... there are tens of thousands of applications. (in the beginning their were questions about profanity and pornography but, I am sure even these things have made it into the guidelines by now).

Also, I was answering the spirit of the original question which was asking if we heard anything from apples mouth, which as we know, we will not.

    Actually your wrong.

Take in point Nine inch nails, just recently they were denied the ability to update their app for the reason of the Downward spiral (A CD Apple sells in iTunes) then recently with no change in code or content, it was approved.

That its self is proof that nothing is cut and paste over the iPhone/iTouch Application Store
    From Tech Connect Magazine

Three days after Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor attempted to get his band's iPhone app update approved and but was declined, Apple has finally allowed the update onto the App Store. Originally claimed to have objectionable content, the application allows for social networking features between Nine Inch Nail fans as well as previews of the bands music.

The objectionable content came from the mature rated music on the band's debut album, "Downward Spiral" and the lyrics in the preview portion of the application, however this would in turn be no different from utilizing Apple's iTunes to preview the same music as it's common for bands to market across the board with the same samples.

Apple has been trigger happy to deny applications as of late, especially with the advent of alternative stores not only for platforms other than the iPhone but some that are specifically to market applications that are not App Store sanctioned. For example a South Park game which was recently denied by the App Store went on to use one of the alternative stores because its creators did not wish to change the content.

The Nine Inch Nails application was not modified in any way to enforce Apple to change their mind, so it seems Trent Reznor's outburst and disapproval as well as the disapproval of many of Nine Inch Nails fans were the factors that got the app approved. The update remains as was stated on the Nine Inch Nails web site.

You tell me I am wrong and then show me that it was blocked because of objectionable content (which is against the guidelines).

Like I said, there is and has been a gray area (regarding R rated type content) that is still being sorted out but most of this stuff is making it into the guidelines.

Every covered story about an application not making into the store has either been about boobs, farting, pornography, or apps containing language for mature audiences. Sirius should not have any issues with that because they are subscription based and plenty of other music service apps have already set the precedence that music apps are OK.

I thought I was on the board with serious Investors who are reading in between the lines and making sense of Sirius claims about it's iphone app for over 1 year now.

Let me draw a picture here. The satellite radio app on iphone is not a small thing at all. It will redefine Radio and how we listen to music. Of all the revoulutions that came in so far, Radio has been a big laggard and Apple/Sirius can change that all that overnight once it starts letting people download Sirius radio app for free with one station on it and let people subscribe for $13/month to get entire Sirius radio channels set. Imagine satellite radio now getting into everyone's phone, car, home, backyard, people jogging in the park and also eventually watching movies (DirectTV channels) on phone. This thing is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. Right now people listen to music that they have downloaded OR through internet radio whatever music they offer as variables to listen to. But sports talk, news talk, dedicated variety music channels are far from that reach. People will be able to buy music, news clips, sports clips through Sirius channels they are listening to on iphone / ipod touch and that's going to increase music/programming sale for Apple big time. Ofcourse Sirius will get a big pie of affiliate (apple) revenue and access to 15 million or so new customers. This thing is as big for Apple as it is big for Sirius. Apple should probably buy out Sirius for $5billion since it completely redefines music/radio industry's future. Eventually with tie up with DirectTV apple can dominate your mobile radio, in home radio, TV and phone - all entertainment sources. Do you see why I felt like asking if apple bothered to mention that Sirius radio app is coming up on Apple. It will boost increase iPhone sales over other cell phones too.
So why Apple is so silent about Sirius Radio collaboration effort?

The reason I said 'over 1 year' is significant thing to note is that you need a lot of effort to pull something as big as this one. You probably have to sit with AT&T folks to make sure bandwidth concerns are addressed with people listening to continuous music.
Apple has incorporated feature in OS 3.0 that auto adjusts to best download speed for music depending on connection type while in motion.
Stero bluetooth option is another one. So you can listen to music on bluetooth.
These two, especially first one tells me that there is something BIG apple is doing to lay platform for streaming audio, especially Radio.
My gut tells me Apple and Sirius are making HUGE announcements within 6-months.
Mark this post. You are about to multiply your investments 10 folds in one year if this is announced. Yes, I do know Sirius balance sheet. I see no concern. Did anyone realize, Sirius has monopoly in Satellite radio space. Apple knows that quite well.
