so what your saying is verizon is willing to waste 30,000? If verizon put money into this stock regardless of the amount that means their financial guru's see siri rising in price soon, if u own siri than this is a GOOD THING.

I think Greenland and Tripping both have very valid points. Verizon would be perfect to partner or take over SIRI. Verizon could get the job done, then Mel wouldn't have to come up to bat in the bottom of the 9th! lol

The reason verizon bought in, is because this is a buying opportunity.
With $500 you can buy about 4,500 shares of a company which holds a legal monopoly in satellite radio broadcasting. I've bought about 20,000 shares over the past week. The risk is fair, the upside great, the amount of money spent to buy a large amount of shares, not a back breaker. Motley Fool use to recommend stocks which are "Rule Breakers". Maybe they still do. Siri not only has broken the rules, but presently, they're writing them. Think David (Siri) and Goliath (NAB). What would you rather have for entertainment and news, if you had a choice between a $50 AM/FM boom box (gets about 20 stations, with commercials), or a $50 satellite radio (gets about 160 channels, few if any commercials). Yes, true, there's the subscription costs. But there's also the lifetime subscription deal, and the $144 you'd have to spend a year, anyway, for prozac or high blood pressure pills (by suffering through commercial radio), which you can instead divert to SiriusXM subscription fees and forego the drugs.
These days are Buying Opportunity. Hopefully I won't be eating my words come May. I think February's a done deal. May's the next big hurdle. later

Those 500K shares purchased by Verizon are the equivalent of what a new member did when he jumped in the middle of a thread to "test" the system not so long ago in this forum. It is hilarious that you guys think of something else...

You are what is hilarious, it was a joke! Re-read it! You don't think people know what testing a stock is?? Good Lord! lol

And by the way, their points are good. Maybe some are not probable, but maybe they could be. Do you have the definitive answer? If so, let us know, we are waiting.
