Newbie "trying to learn" - Can anyone tell me - where are the AH trades done - if the stock markets are closed - how do they trade?? Likely a REALLY dumb question!!

PM (Premarket) runs from 7/8am to 9:30am EST
AH (Afterhours) runs from 4pm to 8pm EST

I am sure I'll get an answer to this post from someone saying that I know nothing but let me finish the answer above.

Premarket and Afterhours trades are made in the same exchanges as the regular hour trades. The main difference is the volume traded and therefore the high volatility.

In the future, the exchanges may choose to be open for trading 24 hrs a day, just like the FOREX.
