No, cost cutting is not always good! Some thing are better to cost cut than others. They could have kept all of the DJ's and program directors that they just cut, by management just taking a slight pay cut.

That would be in in the best interest of the shareholders.......and it would even help the management's stock options!

These intraday update threads get over 2000 hits in a few days. Are these mostly regular members making repeated visits OR are they unique visitors?

Obviously, this site can be used as a monitoring tool to get a sense of the emotions of the retail shareholders (us). For example, a MM can see what needs to be done to shake out remaining holders. If 30 cents won't do it how about 25 cents, etc, ad nauseum. I'm not saying its so. It is a possibility.

The Yahoo Message Board became so inundated with bashers, it became impossible to navigate. Now we've got a basher or two here that operate in a similar manner. Joe Bagholder, for example.

It has been reported that boiler room operations hire bashers to drive SP south for the benefit of Short Sales. While the effectiveness has been questioned, it stands to reason that it could be effective. This case has been argued at length from the exteme position of both sides - Either it is a myth and has no affect or it occurs often and has great effect. The truth probably lays somehere in between.

It is interesting that this thread gets thousands of hits.

    Sirius XM Radio's Serious Predicament
    November 12, 2008 12:33 PM ET | Katy Marquardt

Consumers are reigning in their spending: on $5 lattes, $50 shoes, $1,500 laptops, and really big-ticket items like cars.

That's a problem for Sirius XM Radio. Although Sirius XM's subscriber base grew by 17 percent over the past year, the company expects sluggish growth in 2009 on account of a dramatic slowdown in auto sales. Also of note in the company's earnings report released Monday was a nearly $5 billion loss related to its acquisition of XM in July.

The problem is that Sirius XM draws in most of its new customers through sales of cars with built-in satellite radios, and autos are facing a massive sales slump. The best way to describe the situation? It sucks. That's what CEO Mel Karmazin on a conference call with analysts:

"We think the environment sucks. It is not like we're doing something wrong. It is that, unfortunately, we do not have a whole lot of control over what cars are getting sold. We do our best."

And in September, Karmazin said at an investor conference: "The reason why radio sucks, and the reason that most of you don't want to invest in it is principally because the growth stopped."

Jamie Dlugosch of BloggingStocks muses about how Sirius could operate in a normal economy, but says today, investors are focused on the company's ability to repay its debt. To investors, he says: "If you own, keep holding. There is nothing to gain by selling at this point. If they're going down, they're going down."

The stock is trading around 25 cents today.

    Can you explain to me what happens when there is just about always a big block of shares traded in the after market at an increased price? Like today there was this transaction in the middle of everything;

    16:29 $ .254 450
    16:23 $ .2537 2,000
    16:17 $ .30 1,113,598
    16:16 $ .25 2,496

What's up with those deals anyway?
