Ford Escape Antenna Fault

Hello, I apologize if this is a redundant post but I did many searches and didn't see any with the issue. I purchased a '10 Ford Escape with sirius radio. I already pay for 3 other sirius radios but have never had one in my vehicle. The radio when put in Sirius mode simply reads "Antenna Fault". I contacted sirius and she tried a couple things but nothing worked. I read somewhere where Escapes and other Ford vehicles of certain years had software issues. Updates at Ford are $100. Has anyone fixed this issue without the software update?
