There have been two movie adaptations of Roald Dahl's 1964 novel Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory. The eccentric chocolatier was played by Gene Wilder in 1971 and Johnny Depp in 2005. Warner Bros. acquired the rights to the Willy Wonka character in 2016. Wonka, starring 27-year-old Timothée Chalamet, explores Willy Wonka's early years as a chocolatier and will open in theaters on December 15. Here is the preview:
