Demi Lovato, Idina Menzel, Walt Disney Co. sued over Let It Go
TMZ, Nov 23 2017 7:56 PM
Let It Go, the iconic song from Frozen, was shamelessly ripped off from a famous international artist, who is now suing everyone even remotely connected with the smash hit. Jaime Ciero claims in a new lawsuit Let It Go was obviously inspired by his song Volar. Ciero recorded the song in 2008 and it was played globally. Ciero calls the song "a huge international success reaching millions of listeners and landing on numerous charts of the most popular, top-performing songs."
Even though Volar is recorded in Spanish, there are similarities. The question: are there enough to make a case? Ciero says the striking similarities include note combinations, structures, hooks, melodies, lyrics, themes, production and textures. He's suing Disney; Idina Menzel, who recorded Let It Go for the movie; Demi Lovato, who recorded the single; and others.
Listen to both songs and judge for yourself:

Disney California Adventure roller coaster California Screamin’ to close, transform into new Pixar-themed attraction
The California Screamin’ roller coaster will close on January 8 and be transformed into the Incredicoaster as Disney California Adventure remakes a portion of the Paradise Pier area into Pixar Pier, a new land that is slated to open next summer. Incredicoaster will feature new scenes, special effects and a musical score that will connect it to the upcoming film The Incredibles 2.
A Toy Story-inspired neighborhood will be developed around the Toy Story Midway Mania attraction and another neighborhood will be inspired by Inside Out. Games of the Boardwalk will be replaced by new games based on Pixar characters. The remaining Paradise Pier attractions will become part of a new land called Paradise Park.

Disney has released several live-action versions of their animated classics and several more are in production. Among them are Maleficent, Beauty & The Beast, Prince Charming, Dumbo, Aladdin, The Black Hole, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid and 101 Dalmatians. Now Disney is planning a live-action Mulan. Are all these live-action remakes really necessary?

I saw the "Beauty and the Beast" movie and I thought it was too dark and it had that weird part about Belle being magically transported to Paris. I like the animated version much better. I can watch it over and over but the new movie is nothing I would want to see again.

Disney crosses $5 billion global box office mark as Thor: Ragnarok hammers $800 million worldwide
Deadline, Nov 30 2017 10:07 AM
On Wednesday, The Walt Disney Studios rocked across the $5 billion mark in worldwide receipts — for the third year in a row. That makes The Mouse the first, and only, studio to have reached the threshold three times. The global total from January 1-November 29, 2017, is $5,003.1 million. Breaking that down, it’s $1,763.3 million domestically and $3,239.8 million at the international box office. The milestone comes as current Marvel smash Thor: Ragnarok is expected to surpass $800M globally today.
It’s fair to say Disney is having a fantastic year — and all ahead of the December 13 release of Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Four of the top nine highest grossing films of 2017 are from the studio.
