Who knows my friend, you may be the lucky beneficiary of one of those "pops"....it only needs 3-4 pennies for a 15-20% gain but the opposite is true too. I hope you didn't bet what you can't afford to lose.

NP Salnguad. I do the same thing from time to time - taking a flyer with some spare change on something I think might have a shot at going nuclear. Shoot, just last week I bot 2 contracts of the Dec 21 (expires tomorrow at the open) $12 VIX calls for $.50, figuring that one little hiccup in international affairs and we'd see at least a $1-2 pop in the VIX to maybe $13.50 and I'd make some spare Christmas stocking-stuffer money. So what happened? Well, the fed raised rates by 25 bps and promised three more like it in the next year while at the same time, the Chinese stole a US Navy Drone which could have been a big deal, but the markets yawned at both news stories. Then the Russian Ambassador to Turkey was gunned down in cold blood by a fanatical muslim extremist, and again it was business as usual...then some other fanatical Muslim extremist mowed down over a dozen people in an outdoor shopping area in Germany and....the VIX yawned, rolled over, and went back to sleep, closing at 11.45, so that's $100 I'll never see again.Quote:
