It is truly sad and truly scary that so many millions of Retrumplicans believe Donald Trump's Big Lie about "widespread voter fraud" and a "rigged, stolen election." It is doubly sad and doubly scary when one of those Retrumplicans is an elections official who refuses to accept the results of a free and fair election.

Representative Mo Brooks of Alabama today repeated his claim that former President Donald Trump has personally asked him to work to rescind the 2020 election, remove Joe Biden from office and install Trump in his place. "The President has asked me to rescind the election of 2020," Brooks told WIAT. "He always brings up, 'We've got to rescind the election. We've got to take Joe Biden down and put me in now.'" When asked if Trump still says that to him, Brooks said, "Yes." Brooks said that despite Trump's pleas he has made it clear to him that his request was impossible.
